The waste mountain of coffee cups

So there is an interesting article here about how those cups you get from places like Costa and Starbucks aren't actually recyclable. I would be interested to see reactions to this.

I know the man who created coffee keurigs says you can't depose of them and that he wished they'd all be destroyed. Damn you hindsight.

Well, luckily I drink my coffee black, and I home brew it.

That's the main issue, here.

 

Starbucks is expensive, overrated, not to mention shitty all around. I'd rather have instant coffee than Starbucks. And I hate instant coffee. Dunkin Donuts coffee, however, is good.

 

The people at Starbucks always gave me these evil glares when I would go to their store on base. I'd have them fill my To-Go cup in the morning for me. (I was a CS and I had to be on duty at like 4:30 am. Starbucks on base was the only place that would serve coffee. Couldn't have a coffee maker in my barracks room so I had to get it from them.) Anyway, The To-Go Cup was a coffee cup of my favorite doughnut shop here in Houston. Shipley's Doughnuts. Always got the evil stare when I would pay for my black coffee in the morning.

 

That's a shame they'd act that way just because of you bring a cup from a different place.I know that's how Starbucks people are supposed to be. Bunch of damned elitists. When I lived in Houston, I'd bring a Stop & Go cup into a Circle K, no problem.
I'd bring a Circle K cup into a Stop & Go, no problem. Shipley's into a Dunkin' Donuts, so on and so on. I never went to a Starbucks and more than likely never will. I've had their coffee, it's smelled like shit and tasted like used motor oil ( don't ask how I know that, the motor oil part ). Anyway, the sample I was given was the first and last
time I had Starbucks. Never again.

 

Ididn't have a choice when I lived on base. Starbucks was the only option at 4:30 am.

 

That sucked. Sorry. The base should have another coffee shop that Starbucks.

I'm a bit of a coffee snob, so I only really like it from certain places or make it myself (nice and strong). I've only had Starbucks a couple of times. I used to buy their iced coffee that you can get at like walmart and other places, but only thought it was okay. Tasted too much like water to me. The times I've had coffee from them were both times I went to the hospital, and each time I thought it was just all right. I've heard that Starbucks is a terrible company that employs a lot of a-holes, but I'm not the kind of person to boycott/not go to a place that does stuff like that since all I care about is the product.

 

It's just a shame those cups are non-recyclable.

 

I'm not a big coffee person, but when I do drink coffee, it's at home. I'm more of a tea drinker anyway, hot or iced, gotta have my tea.

 

Cowboy milkshakes are more my style.
