I'm very new to this whole "editing images on the computer" thing, but I have made a few already. If there are any good tutorials or useful tricks that would help me, I'd greatly appreciate if someone shared them with me.

 

You're starting off great! Better than me that's for sure. haha
If you go to deviantart and look up text based tutorials. I'm sure you'll find a good one however just messing with it you will find your own tricks and effects like me with animation and other effects.

Okay lets try this again. Okay as it turns out I was just clicking the wrong thing so sorry for double post.

 

Your username in the top left corner is a bit hard to read as your text and background are both red. If you know how, I'd change the font and it's size to something that both fits the signature and you like. After that you should add a stroke around the text to help it stand out. If you need help with the last portion, I've used GIMP for about two years before owning Ps.

 

Also you can use stuff like the Alpha to Logo filters on the text to make cool effects, then colorize them afterwards to what you want. Though if you do that the text layer becomes a image layer so you wont be able to edit the lettering unless you go back or start over.

I just finished my FMA Brotherhood sig in my opinion it is much better then the last one I did. But every ones feedback helps.

I just finished my FMA Brotherhood sig in my opinion it is much better then the last one I did. But every ones feedback helps.






i feel the image has been vertically smashed, distorting the image in the middle, when you scale something try to keep it synced.

also, splitting up the image into 3 parts, 2 of which have white backgrounds contrasts way to much, and not in a good, black&white way. what program are you using?

i use GIMP. Since sigs here are limited to 500x250, i start out with a 1000x500 image. if you have skype, i would enjoy walking you through some things iv picked up, but im far from a pro like crazy or the other people here. for example, you will see i messed up on this sig of mine (mai hime, red head) the shadow of mai, is cut off becasue i didnt scale the layer to the image >.> i COULD go back and change it, but, i dont think anyone will really notice

Sure that would be helpful thanks my skype is ether RodRule or RodRule97 my pic on there is a chibi. And it was 4 parts and I could not take them of there white backgrounds without a distortion. But if you mean talking on skype I think I would need to recalibrate my mic cuz it might not work just for chatting. Oh and ya I use GIMP to one of the thing keeping me held back is I have not learned layers yet.
