Persona 5 RPG's New Video Reveals September 15 Date

A live-stream event by Atlus on Thursday revealed the fourth promotional video and the September 15 release for the Persona 5 role-playing game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

The game will cost 8,800 yen (about US$82). A 13,800-yen (US$129) 20th Anniversary Edition will add a Persona 5 art book, the five-disc Persona 20th Anniversary All-Time Best Album, a special collaboration DLC set with designer Shigenori Soejima's "picaresque arrangement" of personas and skills, special collaboration DLC sets with Persona 3 and Persona 4's high school uniforms as thief outfits (for all nine party members) along with battle background music and singles, a special custom theme by Shigenori Soejima, and a deluxe P5 Art Treasure Box.

Thursday's streamed event began with live webcam footage of the Tokyo Tower landmark. A staff discussion revealed two new Velvet Room guides named Justine and Caroline. The stream then simulated a breaking news bulletin (by real-life reporter Noriko Shōji) on the "disappearance" of the Tokyo Tower by a mysterious thief organization. The news bulletin segued to the new promotional video.

The previously announced television anime special, Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, will air in September, before the game's launch. It will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.

An orchestral concert will run on August 13. "Persona 20th Fes," a "immersive Persona cultural festival" in the style of high school festivals, will run at the Arts Chiyoda 3331 complex in Tokyo's Akihabara district in December to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.

I'm hoping E3 has a NA release data. Once I get my hands on the game, I know what Social Link I'll be aiming for (I'm sure you all can guess from the PV).

 

I believe Atlus USA did say they will have it at their booth at E3 this year so hopefully they will have the NA release date and I know they still have a 2016 release date planned so it will at least still be released this year in NA. This is one of the games I have been looking forward to since it was announced.

 

I'd say it's more likely that they release in February-April of 2016. Atlus USA unfortunately isn't the fastest to get us this stuff.
