    Matthew smiled at the pair of them. "Thanks. Means a lot."

    Many hours later the three of them were in a dark alleyway again, a few blocks from Penton Enterprises. A van with the Penton logo - a strange shape that looked suspiciously like a pentagram - was parked nearby, and the driver's seat was vacant.
    “OK,” Matthew said quietly. “Here's the plan. We steal that van, drive it to Penton Enterprises, get in through the employee parking garage. Once inside, we head up to the processing department and then I...” He shifted uncomfortably. “I mean, the kids go into the system. Once inside, the kids can fry as much as they like to find Jacob. Might take them some time though – so that's where you two come in.”

    He turned to Logan.

    “I'm taking it as assumed that you're going to want to scrap – so you'll be on guard duty. The second someone shows up who realizes we're not supposed to be there – which may be very quickly – go ape on them. Be careful though, and if you think you'll get hurt pull back immediately.” He scowled. “And don't call me White Knight.”

    Then he turned to Kitty.
    “I know you're not really the confrontational type,” he said fairly, “so you'll have another job. When the kids enter the system and start tearing things up, alarms are going to start triggering. When they do, it's going to be up to you to find and turn off as many alarms as you possibly can. Try and find a master switch – considering we'll be in the processing department, it shouldn't be too far away. Once the alarms have been powered off, they should stop sending security thinking that the problem's resolved. If someone confronts you and you think you can't take them, same rule as Logan – pull back. Finding Jacob isn't worth you two getting hurt.”

    He looked back at the van. “I'll be making sure the kids get it done, not to mention playing saboteur with the tech department who will try and lock the kids out of the system. We'll be in there minutes. When we're done, we jump out of the window and we'll be fine from there.”
    He clasped his hands behind his back.
    “Any questions?”

    He came through the park, bold as brass and twice as shiny, pupils slitted like a cat's and sunlight gleaming off his jointed armour. He looked, in a word, handsome – women that had before been cowering in terror from the hulking creature suddenly swooned in his direction. He ignored them and approached the boy and swords...thing.
    “Lovely day, isn't it?” he said conversationally, as though they were old friends. “Good day to go for a stroll, if you ask me. Now, who are you,” he asked the big guy, “and what are you doing in this park scaring folk?”

    Logan actually seemed fairly pleased at the response he got from Kitty. He gave her a wry smile and a quick pat on the head.
    "Now that's more like it. I guess you do have some fight in you, after all. It's about time you showed a little backbone."
    Although he did it in his own way, as unflattering as it might be, this was actually the closest he'd come to praising someone in quite some time.

    He listened as Matthew explained his plan and when asked for questions, Logan quickly chimed in once again.
    "Sure, I've got a few questions."
    He held up one finger.
    "Is there anyone in that building with powers like us? Or are they just gonna keep firing guns at me hoping that I'll die of laughter?"
    He held up a second finger.
    "Depending on how you answer the first question, let's say that I'm able to hold them off for a very long time without breaking a sweat-- which may very well be the case. How much time do you want me to give you before pulling back?"
    He held up a third finger.
    "And if you're really so tired of me calling you White Knight then why on Earth do you keep going out of your way to prove me right? Come on, you're sending me some very mixed signals here."

    Gabriel suddenly turned around to face the man who walked towards them. When he asked about Eldrich, Gabriel waved his arms and quickly tried to explain.
    "Wait, hold on, you've got the wrong idea, sir!"
    He motioned towards Eldrich with a smile on his face.
    "This is Sir Eldrich the Dragon Slayer! He wasn't trying to scare people, he was just looking for dragons to slay because he's a real knight from medieval times! Isn't that right, Mr. Eldrich?"
    He looked up at Eldrich expectantly, hoping that he could clear things up with the man.

    Kitty purred slightly, She didn't get many pats on the head. Kitty then looked at Matthew and nodded. "I'll do my best, I promise." She looked back at Logan expectantly, Hoping for more praise. "I'm strong! You can count on me!"

    Lucis typically didn't pull all nighters at Penton towers. usually he was out and about, trying to 'find' new employees. But tonight he had this nagging feeling that was keeping him at the tower. it was causing him to wander the security and processing departments. He walked into a gaint room full of monitors, one of ten, to check on things. A company would be okay with just one room like this, but when your working on as much stuff as pention enterprises was it'd be nice to see the invading paramilitary force who's wanting your deadliest tech. some of which is definitely banned by the Geneva convention.

    as he entered the room, the guy watching the monitors didn't even move, but just kept his eyes on a huge screen that was nothing but green symbols moving vertically. This guy wasn't you standard cooperate guard. He wore a black suit and tie, black shades as well as a ear piece.
    "Mr Penton, it's a pleasure to see you again.

    Lucis looked at the cameras and looked back at Mr. smith.
    "I really don't understand that system of yours Smith... but anyways, anything happened?"

    Smith slowly turned his head towards Lucis, his face keeping it's emotionless appearance.
    "It may be strange to you, but where I come from it has really proven to be a good monitoring program." He then jerked his head to look at one area of the screen as he put a finger on his ear piece.
    "It appears that someone's attempting to enter the tower to access something. Maybe even take something... sabotage perhaps..."

    Lucis smiled and responded to Smith, giving him an order.

    "Smith, you are to shut down all of the towers alarm and security systems except for the cameras. I want to fully test them out still as well as your "agents". that means your team has full reign over this issues." AS penton was leaving, a thought popped into his mind.
    "oh and please don't allow them to use their desert eagle's again. I actually want them alive this time. plus it gives the cleaning people a easier job as well."
    Mr. penton walked out with his hands behind his back and a grin on his face that would make any super villain proud.

    "You have no idea how easy blood stains, and good luck on getting it out of carpets and rugs."

    Matthew bit his lip in thought.
    "The kids and I have entered buildings like this before, but there's something about this one that the kids REALLY don't like - so if you ask me, I think there's someone with links to dark powers there, maybe even more than one. Considering how fast the kids work - and the level of security they're going to have to break through accordingly - I'd estimate you give us fifteen minutes to work and we should be fine." His brow narrowed just slightly. "And while I don't mind the nickname - you could call me Vomit Patch for all I care - it's the implications I don't like. That I have to save everyone and that I have to play the good guy. Probably because that's exactly what I do."
    He looked towards the van. "No time like the present - come on, we can talk more on the way."

    A few minutes of supernatural hot-wiring later, and the van (with Matthew in the front seat, though a close inspection revealed he wasn't touching the wheel or the pedals) sped down the road weaving through traffic towards Penton Enterprises.
    With a gentle trundle of wheels on metal, the vehicle was scanned and sent through into an underground parking lot for employees only. A little more technological haunting and the three of them were past the ID scanners and into the employee elevator.
    Matthew turned to the others before he hit the button that would send them up into the building itself - their last chance to back out.
    "Any last things before we go in?" His finger hovered above the button, expectantly. The elevator camera had long since mysteriously stopped functioning the instant they'd entered the elevator, but the ghosts flitted around nervously, clearly reticent to go up.

    Kitty looked around, faintly seeing the ghostly children fidget around nervously. "I'm ready." She turned her gaze to Logan. "Are you?" She said sarcastically and giggled.

    "Young one." Eldrich Paused, he was reaching his arm back towards his sword grabbing the hilt. He positioned himself in a striking pose if he needed to attack. "Step back." Pausing again. He pulled his sword up just an inch from its sheathe, but made sure his intent was clear of defense. Something about this man he didn't trust, and he found it out when he gazed into his eyes. Eldrich cleared his throat.

    "What art thou?" He said with a boom. "Your eyes are that of a demon, dragon, or cat. either way I don't trust those eyes. State your business, Abnormal, or i will strike. For you stand against the legendary, Eldrich the Dragon Slayer!" He prepared for the man to attack understanding peoples arbitrary nature. he noticed his armor wasn't really touched, He was willing to change that if need be.

    Logan blinked a few times, looking more baffled than anything as Kitty stared at him with such innocent, childlike eyes. He raised an eyebrow and hesitantly replied.
    "Sure, yeah. Give 'em hell, Fluffy. We're both counting on you."
    From his flat, dry tone, it was fairly obvious that he was caught off-guard and he just told her what he thought she wanted to hear. He figured she wouldn't really notice and/or care.

    Logan gave Kitty a sideways glance.
    "Ha. Ha."
    True to form, Logan looked up at Matthew and replied in his usual sarcastic tone without missing a beat.
    "Ohhh, I can't take it. My inner turmoil has finally gotten the better of me. What if we get caught? What if we get sent to prison? I don't wanna be Big Bubba's new girlfriend, man. I hear bad things happen when you drop the soap. Woe is me, whatever will I do?"
    He knew exactly what to do, actually. He stepped forward and pressed the button that Matthew's finger was hovering over.
    "Well, that about does it for our lunch break, folks. Thanks for joining us for another round of "stupid questions with Matthew that he already knows the answer to." Next up on our tour of Penton Industries: computers, security guards and things that we actually came here to do."

    Name: Maisie Ryder (Sometimes, goes by Witch.)

    Gender: Female

    Powers: http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Bullet_Hell + http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Magic_Bullet_Projection (Good luck seeing her standing after that if she keeps it up, though.)

    Age: (??????) It's rude to ask a lady her age. Pretty old. I-

    Bio: A tanned skinned lass, with a generic witch hat on her head, and a red neckerchief around her neck... Where else? She has long brown hair that goes down to her shoulders. It's a mess. That's why she wears the hat. She's a pretty old gal, but it's not too obvious. She could tell ya' she was 30, and you could maybe buy it. What else does she like to wear? Well, Just some good ol' jeans, leather jacket and a white shirt. Not that you can see the shirt.

    She's about five foot six, flat chested, and seriously damn old. It's not really clear just how old she could be. Not that old, of course!...

    She stood, arms folded, in a nice room, just waiting for the elevator. Her hat's rim tilted down over her face, as she waited. To be honest, she was kind of falling asleep waiting for this damn elevator. This floor didn't have a bathroom? No way! Unbelievable! She wanted to get up to mischief, and now... She held her stomach, whining to herself.
    "If this thing doesn't hurry up, I'm gonna' piss my pants! . . ." She muttered this to herself, actually. This place was boring. Too much security and too much god damn business suits . . .This was no place for her to be. She sure hoped she didn't get strung along on some adventure!

    The lift doors opened, and the three (technically eighteen) found themselves looking at a mature lady who appeared to be wearing a witch hat completely unironically. Matthew was suddenly aware he was accompanied by a grizzled young man, and a catgirl.

    “Hello!” he said brightly. “Lovely day, isn't it!”
    He hastily ushered the group past her. “Have a good day now, miss! Sorry, late for work!” They walked very quickly around the corner out of sight, before Matthew looked up. “Take everything down.”
    The ghosts flitted up into the ceiling, and the cameras all across the floor suddenly whirred and went dead. One ghost peeked out of the ceiling.
    “Where are we headed?”
    “Two rooms along, big room, loads of computers!” the ghost said excitedly. “Can we play on them, Daddy!” Their fear appeared to have completely evaporated now their “father” was with them.
    “Look, I promise – we get this done, and I'll take all of you to the arcade later.”
    The ghost visibly smiled – a sight that was both adorable and slightly creepy – and vanished. Matthew turned to the others, lowering his voice to make sure the staff passing by didn't overhear them. Some were giving them weird looks, but the fact they'd managed to break in so easily hadn't twigged yet.
    “Ok, I'm just letting you guys know what's about to happen. When I give the word, the power on this floor is going to mysteriously fail and there will be a panic. When that happens, Logan, you and me will be heading to the processing room and clearing it out.”

    He tilted his head at Kitty.
    “The reason I specified me and Logan, is because here's your part – when the lights go down you'll be the only one who'll be able to move around unheeded, because I'm assuming at least your catgirl physiology includes cat eyesight. You'll need to scout around and find the security room. Once there, find the master security button or switch or whatever. Once you do so, and the power comes back on and Logan and I get to work, make sure it stays off to buy me and Logan time.”
    He looked back at Logan. “You're going to take everyone in the processing room out. Non-lethally,” he added, just in case he was getting ideas. “Then you're going to stand guard. Again, try not to kill anyone unless you have to.”
    He looked over his shoulder to check they weren't being observed. “You both ready?”

    The man remained calm, though a slight tensing of the muscles hinted to his being prepared to defend himself. “The eyes do worry people, though I assure you they're completely normal – as would be expected if you had the eyes of a cat. I'm not here to fight, just to inquire as to why a huge warrior like yourself dating back from at least a few centuries is doing in the middle of a public park with a huge weapon.” His eyes moved down to the sword. “Nice gear, by the way. I can think of a friend who'd love to go a few rounds with you.” He extended his hand. “My name is Bravado. And if you're not looking to cause trouble, I'm sure we'll be friends.”

    Logan raised an eyebrow, looking slightly indignant.
    "Give me a little bit of credit, I never kill unless I have to. It's a personal rule of mine. Kind of like a code of honor, I guess you could say. Now collateral damage, that's another matter entirely."
    He had a wry smile on his face.
    "There's not a whole lot I can do about that. I'll make sure that nothing hits the computers, but...well, let's just say that they might be the last thing standing by the time we're done here. That's just my style, take it or leave it."

    "You can count on me, Mister Matthew!" She had the look of determination in her eyes. "Don't worry, I have a few tricks up my sleeve if things get bad." She looked back at the lady in the witch hat. She was wary of her. Kitty sensed something was different about her, Maybe because of the witch hat? She shook her head and looked back at Matthew and Logan. "I'm ready when you guys are."

    Penton rushed into the experimental sercurity room just as the coding on the huge screen changed drastically. Lucis could feel the presence of quite a few new souls. souls that he didn't own... and they where childern as well. He rushed up behind Smith, but instead of a frustrated look there was a look of excitement and eagerness on his face.

    "where? Where are they?" Lucis asked as he got to a keboard interface.

    "before you sit down, you need to know that whoever is in this group has caused cameras to go down not only in the employee parking garage elevator, but the hallway leading to the computer rooms on the 27th floor as well." Said smith in a emotionless mono-like voice.

    Mr. penton noticed this as he heard smith. "I wonder if that new experimental loop system's been installed there yet."
    Lucis was lost in thought for a second as he thought things out. "This might work out and a great test run!" Just then, Smith interrupted with his monochromatic voice, uniform but yet somehow with a hint of bitterness and hatred.

    "It looks like theres two men, one stronger than the other, as well as a young girl that appears to have.... ears."

    Smith didn't have to say anything else for Penton to head out the door. He couldn't waste this opportunity. as he was goin gout the door, he shouted at smith out of excitement.
    "smith, for one you need to change your voice. My god, you sound like the program that your are. and second, don't turn the security systems or alarms on. I want to keep this quiet and see just what the "ghosts" want." as he left the room he took out a phone and started making calls...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "So, you think this is a bad idea? Sorry to say this but that place has been the source of a lot of bad feelings. And I haven't been the only one to get them ether." A priest dressed in a fine black overcoat with striking black hair was walking. If it wasn't for the irish accent then people would have thought he was crazy for talking to himself. but this father wasn't any normal father, and he's a ways away from being mental.
    "thats why I need to get into that tower Micheal. To truely find out whats going on in this city of the night."
    And with that he walked in thru the employee parking elevator.
    He was only a block away from Penton tower and he was planning on busting right in. of course he needed to look into things he's heard about Penton and his company. he was on orders from the Vatican.
    Matthew clicked his fingers, and a few seconds later every single thing on their floor either blew a fuse or completely shut down - and as Penton Enterprises had very tinted windows, the area was plunged into almost total darkness.
    Almost immediately, employees started shouting and running around trying to restore their work, turn the water cooler back on, and most importantly try to save the office fridge where all the delicious snacks were stored til lunch.
    Matthew's eyes fixed on one of the ghosts who swiftly flew through the maelstrom of panic down the corridor. “Logan, follow me. Kitty, good luck. Let's do this.”
    He took off, following the ghost at a run. A few corners later, he found a room with gigantic processors, and he could only assume this was the place where all the financial data flowed through the company.
    I'm sorry, he thought to himself. I never meant to do this. But if we can't find him any other way, then needs must.
    The room was crammed with employees, all of them shaking their screens and panicking as much as the others.
    “Logan,” Matthew said tersely as the ghosts hurtled past him eyeing the monitors with glee. “Your cue.”
    Maisie gasped... Other people, eh? Finally! She rushed into the elevator, pressing a button and watching the others... She'd have to be quick to catch up with 'em. As the elevator made it's way down, she jogged in place... "That was way too close..." She pondered for a minute, getting out of the elevator when it reached the floor, doing what she had to do. She got back in the elevator, taking a few deep breaths. "Seems like someone else is up to something round here..." She had a mischievous grin on her face, as she slammed the button to get back on the floor the others were on. There was something funny about them, come to think of it. That girl had ears! She always found trouble, no matter where she went.
    Hopefully, if the gang were all still up there, she'd tap the girl with the weird cat ears on the shoulder. "Oi oi. I'm comin' with you lot." She grinned, tilting her hat up a bit before folding her arms.
    If they were gone, she was just standing there like an idiot, looking around and trying to listen out for something.
    The power went out. Luckily for Kitty, her cat like senses let her see in the dark. She ran past all the people in business suits scrambling and trying to make sense of what just happened. "Security, security, security.... Where is it?" She checked every door she ran past. "There!" She had found the door leading to the security room. Kitty slowly entered the room and looked around. "No one is here? That's odd..." She shrugged and looked for the master security switch. She found the master switch, but to her surprise, the alarm system was already shut off. "What in the... Why would it already be off?" She had a bad feeling.
    Maisie sighed. No one was here. She'd just go for a bit of a wander in this dumb building with security that she probably shouldn't be hanging about in. Ah yes, a pitch black room. Where else would she go? She went in for a wander, just because. She couldn't get arrested if they couldn't see her. She knew there was people about in here, she'd been in the dark before, believe it or not. She got pretty far in, before bumping into someone and tripping, falling face first towards the ground, grabbing onto something long and fluffy in the process... (Almost like a tail, or something!) She pulled that shit with her. This was going to fucking hurt, but her hat magically stayed on her head! Wowzers! "OH FER FU--" Slam. Her face was gonna hurt plenty.
    Kitty felt someone bump into her, then someone yanking on her tail and dragging her down. "K-kyaaa!" Whoever bumped into Kitty was falling, and taking her down with them. She fell backwards on top of them. "I-I'm so sorry!" She quickly got up and went to help whoever fell, But on taking a closer look at who it was, She saw that it was the lady with the witch hat! Kitty took a step back. "You?! What are you doing here?!"
    She oofed... Slowly getting getting back on her feet, dusting herself up, poking up the rim of her hat. "S'cuse me, Lass. What are YOU doing here? This place is a bit bigger than you, don't you think?" She liked pretending to be pompous. Now she would laugh in a very silly way! "Oh ho ho!" She covered her mouth with her hand, stretching. "Go on, tell me."
