That's true, if Fate was badass enough as a 9yo, imagine how badass she would be as an adult, oh wait there's no need, 'cause we already saw that she's badass in StrikerS

So I took the liberty of watching and catching up to Ore Monogatari and I've gotta say: Takao, hands down

Now that's a good one, I need to review the Spring anime that I'm watching, which doesn't include Ansatsu no Kyoushitsu and Go! Princess Precure since they're both from Winter

How sad. lol It would take 4 seasons of Nanoha to beat 1 season and 1 movie of Puella Madoka and heck the 1 season of Puella Madoka alone still beats everything by itself (Including Puella Madoka moive 3 Rebellion), so 4 seasons vs. 1 season, guess this just proves nothing can beat Puella Madoka, esp with just 1 season. lol No I haven't seen Nanoha yet, I plan to, but I still say like I've always said, NOTHING beats Puella Madoka, not even Steins;Gate which does come close to matching it but not quite.

I'll think of something later, perhaps something involving oppai. ;) joking aside u'll catch up, I finally did. lol

@Keiichi-Morisato Sorry, I don't catch the pic reference, VA perhaps?

This triggers me hard that I'm not even going to understand the reasoning behind this post.

This makes me happy and sad, happy because I'm glad she's getting some attention in the west, but sad because she'll never get a decent role again apart from Haruno, she'll just be voicing background characters or one-episode only characters. I think it's sad that the most I've heard her this year was in episode 6 of Nanoha, and even then she was voicing 2 characters.

Kay and I started watching Show By Rock!! the other night, and holy Haruhi it is so much better than we expected!
It starts off like a standard cute-girls-doing-cute-things, but then MC gets put in music world and it's great.
MC is a pretty damn good catgirl, and the humour is amusing and the music is pretty good (and a decent focus on it too).
And the CGI, is actually amazing. It looks strange at first, but when you get used to it, it looks sooooo good. Like, it looks so smooth when the bands are performing, making tiny subtle little actions that you wouldn't see in normal animation, or even a bunch of CGI.
Like, just look at this screencap I took that is probs gonna be a new wallpaper now~
    [IMG]
    Oh, and obligatory catgirl screencaps.

SK, I'm not gonna jump the gun and say right now that you should watch this (gonna watch more just to make sure), but Kay had less than no interest in Show By Rock!! before I put it on the TV while she was on the computer, but she was loving it by the end of the episode! (I am quoting her emotions here)

I dunno girl, Madoka was great and all, but Nanoha is also great and awesome, there are other magical girl anime that actually do beat Madoka, heck even those that could match Nanoha or not as well, even some other awesome anime out there are greater than Madoka, other than SAO II, would name a few but people would either kill me or do something to me

It's been a while since I posted here (partly I was busy and partly I just forgot) So i'll just run through my current thoughts on a few shows.

Seraph of the End- Meh. I don't even watch much post apocalyptic anime but I at least know of a few and this show doesn't feel a whole lot different from those. It's not that it's copying their plots outright but it just feels the same and while it feel entertaining enough to watch since I don't watch this type of show often it doesn't really feel like it has it's own identity. It just feels like it's going through the same paces as past shows.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?- have to say at last something surpassed my expectations so far. I don't know if I'd call it best of the season but Bell is a fun character who doesn't waste all his time moping and after crying his feelings out for a little bit picks himself up and actually gets his ass in gear. The rest of the cast and the set up it self all are interesting enough to keep the show going as well.

Shokugeki no Souma - Now this I'm almost tempted to call one of the seasons best. It's a show about cooking but it just has so much spirit and personality to it. The fan service is fair to both genders and is there for visual impact of how good the food is rather than just tasteless eye candy. The characters especially the MC are great and their reactions to some of the food are just hilarious. Plus maybe you'll pick up a few good cooking tips while you're at it.

Kekkai Sensen- It took me a bit to get into this but it's a fairly fun watch. It's mostly an episodic series with each episode focusing on a different incident that is generally solved by the end of the episode with a main villain group behind most of it to help tie it all together. Overall it's worth checking out at least but it's not nearly as action packed as the title may lead you to believe.

Punchline- This one is honestly a dissapointment. I was expecting random nonsense on the level of Is this a Zombie? or maybe Kill La Kill but instead it's just a weird nonsensical plot that while it's not hard to follow (once they finally get around to explaining stuff) is just kind of odd and it takes forever for things to really get interesting and even then it's just okay. Not a terrible show but I expected something more energetic and fun.

Arslan Senki- one of the other better ones of the season. It has some great action, some cool characters, and some nice animation too.... besides the CGI soldiers but I guess with that many it couldn't be helped. So far it's been a really good adventure story following a prince trying to save his kingdom.

Ore Monogatari!!- All I have to say about this is the MC is great, the rest of the cast are great, but damn I wish something more interesting would happen. So far the only crisis they faced was her being too shy to tell him she wanted to hold hands which was resolved quickly and the fire thing which Takeo handled like a boss but went by really quick. I don't want over done love drama but I want something more exciting to happen. Everything just feels like it's too casual and slow and while I like the characters and find their interactions sweet I'm just not super drawn into it because there isn't even a hint of trouble and there hasn't really been this whole time. Even with the shyness thing we knew it was just her being a little overly self conscious so we didn't really have to worry.

I'm proably forgetting something but I'll just leave it at this for now.

Anyone that needs to ask this clearly isn't watching Gintama. 10/10 from the first episode, amazingly entertaining. I laugh my arse off every ep.

After watching Nana almost any show revolving around music will suck now, that show had amazing music and used it really well too. Show by Rock will be utterly destroyed by the music vibes Nana had now. Also you basically lost my interest the second you typed "cute-girls-doing-cute-things"

@Metazoxan I mostly agree with your views of the anime you mentioned above, I'm not enjoying too many of the new releases this season. Maybe it is because Gintama outshines them that much or perhaps they just aren't that good, who knows? That being said Ore Monogatari is entertaining, Arslan Senki is good but needs more action, Dungeon ni Deai better than expected, Baby Steps has made a good return and Diamond no Ace is doing really well again. The rest are basically 6 or below.

I wouldn't exactly call that a new release anymore, it finished months ago now. The sub was good, you should have watched it while it was airing with a few of us.

It is still ongoing, they will be made into 3 arcs. The first arc is the only one out at the moment. The next one will be in July.

@Sir-Maddy Ok, gots 4 good questions for you regarding Nanoha. 1. Is any of your fav VA or seiyou as they're also known as (hoping I spelt that right) in it? 2. If any are in it, did this effect in any way at all, your reason for giving the series a higher rating? 3. What did u rate Nanoha? (preferably if a different rating for each season/movie/ovas etc. please list the name and the rating) 4. Is Nanoha your most fav and or highest rated show that is the best one you've ever seen out of them all or at the least on par with the highest of the highest?

I'm seriously interested in knowing this, and it might help me to watch it sooner rather than later.

*raises eyebrow* Well, what are u waiting for Natsu? Magical girl genre is one of my most fav genre, let's hear these great (understatement) magical girl anime u speak of please. :) As for SAO II, look, SAO I was really great, prolly would been better if they hadn't done the 2nd half by coming 2 arcs into one season and more so if they hadn't ended the 1st arc the way they did
by letting them escape 25-30 floors early
so if they'd continued it I could've rated it a 9.0 or higher, the very least it woulda gotten an 8.5 if the ending or next 12ish eps weren't good like the rest, but instead they cobined 2 arcs, ended it earlier than they should've imo and as a result, I had to rate it an 8.0 (Still very high for my rating standards, but 9.0 or even higher are rare, esp the higher). So yea, back to SAO II, I have yet to watch it as I am waiting for all of S2's Dubbed eps to finish getting airing on Toonami as I don't wanna stop in the middle of an awesome point for this particular series. Even so, I doubt it'll be better than what S1 could've been if it'd not done 2 arcs in 1 season. (or 2 seasons in 1 season in other words) So, as to listing other anime, me wants dat list please. Guessing by what u said, "It's dangerous to go alone, Take PM me." Tehe

Ish guilty of never seeing any of Gintama.

Yea, Mafia shoulda known better. xD Eve I am not that into "cute-girls-doing-cute-things" that much. Tis why it took SOOOO long for me to finish 2 seasons of K-on and I still got the movie and the uraha shorts to go...

    Replying to this below.

That and the dub is still technically a new release seeing as cour 1's last 12th ep only aired less than a week ago. But yea, cour 1 won't be a new release anymore soon enough (dub wise) but x2 as a whole like Veritas said still has 2 more cours to go which the final one atm still lists the 3rd cour for season 2 as airing in winter 2016. (That better be the beginning and not the end of 2016...) I just hope we don't have to wait 8 weeks or longer for the dub to come out like we did for x2 shou (1st cour) since many of Funi's dubs this season have been releasing after 8 eps of the sub already aired. It'd be great if it was the same day each sub aired that the same ep for dub also aired but, I imagine that'd be difficult to say the least, if not impossible so 4 weeks after the sub starts is what I am hoping is possible and will happen.

Bah. How long until music is good for you again?
The cute-girls-doing-cute-things aspect it only for like literally just the first 4.5 minutes, including the OP (I just checked then). It's just while MC is being in school trying to join a club. At 4.5, she gets sucked into the other world and it's like music and CGI and action!~

For me I'm enjoying a few overall but not much is REALLY grabbing me this season. Like Yamada and the seven witches is fun but nothing too great. Again the Dungeon anime and the food one are a couple of my favorites for having fun and energetic casts and atmospheres. But overall this season feels like it under performed a little.

EDIT: BTW you say mostly so where does your view differ? I'm just curious.
