Animation wise for our generation, really? It can represent our generator sure but for animation I can't go past Berserk's amazing animation. Older anime are awesome.

uuhmmm dragon ball is older than berserk even sailor moon is older than berserk. even if sailor moon and the seven balls is a joke, its still way better to define our generation just for at least referencing the originals. berserk is like my younger brothers generation.

Yeah but you know how I favour great animation, Berserk was animated really well. I am sad knowing that due to how anime is made nowadays that we'll probably never see something like that again. Older anime have that extra charm from their animation, I really should watch some more older shows, I should definitely start with Lupin.

Well that was educational. There was a helpful small wiki to tell me enough and wow. Why you know of these kinds of things I don't know but now I know something like that existed......
I don't know what to feel now.

You should feel blessed that you live in a world where our savior exists.

Maybe your saviour, I think I'd have been just fine without ever knowing it existed. I'm always curious as to how you know these things, you're definitely giving off the vibe that you've seen it all several times....

Of course you did and the only thing I'm surprised about is that so far you haven't mentioned watching the second one. It certainly sounds like an ...... Interesting crossover cast.

in time, animation will not affect your decision when it comes to anime. as what you are doing now, the excitement of watching old anime will be of higher volume compared to the new ones. new ones are just bland and targeted to specific audience unlike the oldies where the target audience was the world. xD

We're in an age of computers now, most anime back then was cells.

Noobs must be forgetting me after all this time, how sad. Animation will always affect my decisions as I'm sure it is one of the reasons I am an anime fan, I've always liked art. I watch just about any type of animation used but there are certain stand out works that blow the rest away. That is why old school anime have an extra charm to me, if I could I'd watch all of the 1963 Astro Boy but sadly that doesn't seem to exist on streaming sites.

That is why I'm sad, since computers make it much easier what company would willingly make the task that much harder for a series?

I don't see why old and new methods can't be used together...Ghibli do a great job balancing the two. Then again that does cost more money so not many studios would be willing to do it like Ghibli.

Because old methods are even more time consuming than the new methods. See this is why I will keep watching Ghibli even if I don't like them anymore, their animation never usually disappoints.

I haven't really liked their last 3 movies[?], I think the last movie that I rated 7 or higher was Arrietty [and Ronja but that doesn't exactly count]

It certainly was an enjoyable watch as for as animation was concerned, I thought how it was done was really impressive. After a while I got bored of the movie though and so I rated it a 5.
