I've played both, though I've only beaten The Last Story. Eternal Sonata, while fun, just didn't hold my attention.

I haven't beaten either. I got really far into The Last Story, but my wii I think has an issue because it keeps freezing at a certain part and the disk is new. I bought it new...so it's strange...

Yeah my Wii was doing that as well a while ago, except it wouldn't read certain discs like Sakura Wars (which at the time I had just bought) and Super Smash Bros. And the games that did work would freeze. I really enjoyed The Last Story and I'm pissed off that Gameinformer made me not want to get it. I was going to pre-order it and everything on my birthday but I never did because I was afraid that I would dislike it and then Gameinformer said that it wasn't great. The I borrowed it from a friend, re-read the review, and they got everything wrong .-.

Eternal Sonata was all right, I just didn't care for the story. The actors sound bored out of they're minds in it and the story is a tad boring as well. The game play is fun, but gets old fast. I never ended up beating it due to it just not holding my attention.

Gameinformer is weird then...I don't even look at it. Lol I delete it every time they send it to me. I told them that I didn't want it in the first place. I thought the game was going to be interesting when I read the back of it. So I bought it a couple of weeks later.

I understand why for Eternal Sonata. Some of the facts are based off of true facts. Considering Chopin was a real musician. So learn about his life throughout the whole game. All the characters are named after musicians. I watched game play before I decided to buy it.

Oh it wasn't the learning, I love learning and I love classical music like Chopin. I just thought the story was a bit boring IMO. I keep meaning to go back to it but everytime I do I end up stopping almost immediately.

Been playing Silent Hill. I'm a big fan of the series. Aside from that I mostly play RPG's, Empire games, Horror games and Simulation games.

Eternal Sonata and The Last Story. Yeah they aren't bad, I couldn't get around to finishing them though.

I actually really liked the story of Eternal Sonata, I kind of found the whole thing about Chopin pretty interesting. As someone who studied music years ago the reintroduction on who he was in the past was a nice refresher. The actual story seemed decent enough for me.

I just couldn't bring myself to enjoy the battle system. It got a little too stale too quickly. I think I saved somewhere after that ice mountain place. I don't know, maybe I'll just watch a let's play for the rest of the way.

The Last Story had me quit for opposite reasons. I liked the battle system (though it felt a little too easy sometimes) but the story was dull. This one I got really far in but I quit near the ending. You'll find that I do that to way to many games. I play over 30 hours worth but don't bother finishing. Think my bother will finish it for me, I'll just watch him do it.

I did enjoy playing them though, just not enough to bring myself to finish it. Seems silly since I gone so far but that's the joke around my house, I can't finish a game that's not considered great.

I've never played Last Story but I've watched my brother play through large parts of the game, he has finished it numerous times since there isn't much else to do once you've beaten story mode.
One of the most memorable lines has to be "I can't help it, if I'm hungry I'm hungry", I've heard that lines way too many times.
Story wise I wasn't too impressed by what I did see but at least the graphics weren't bad.

I never felt the urge to play it though so maybe it isn't that good. Maybe I'd be more likely to play it if the disc actually offered Japanese audio with eng subs.

My sister doesn't like the battle system either. Lol I got used to it after a few times going. I'm on chapter 2 of the whole story. Chopin was a great musician. Learning about him through this game is great.

I used to be in band and played the trumpet...and used to be in chorus. I love music as well. :) I hated both of my teachers so I ended up quitting in my senior year. My band teacher ended up leaving, but I never rejoined.

Gotta say the Last Story was interesting. I am kinda near the end. Like I said before. I haven't been able to get past where I am because of issues with my wii. If I beat the guy finally maybe it will finally let me pass. -.-

I just liked the fact that all the actors are British...because it came out in Europe before it came here. I wonder what it would be like in Japanese...I probably wouldn't get into it. XD

I have Aquapazza...I don't recommend ever getting that game...it's really stupid.

Still gotta say I do love the graphics to both. My sister says they are too realistic for the Last Story.

I was a Trombone player in a symphony band of over 70 people. It was big and glorious. Those were the good old days, my band in middle school was one of the best in the state and we played in Atlanta and Dallas. My first teacher there was really old school, got in your face a lot. I didn't like him, actually no one really did but we did very well regardless. Then he retired and we got a new guy who was really fun, he let us play the hip and modern music that was around. That's what it was about, I just wanted to play the The Imperial March when I signed up. Good thing we were good and nailed it.

Sad that by the time I got to high school I was already by default the leading candidate to take on band leader duties. A freshman with more skills then the seniors (minus a pretty cute flute player who was the current head).

Yeah that was demoralizing, I just wanted to play complex music as a symphony, not arrange the daily schedule for newbies. I had to politely inform the teacher I just wasn't up to that task. I quit the following year.

It was no hard feelings though, the guy appreciated my honesty early on. Good guy, just didn't get the students that came from my old middle school.

It's good that he was was a fun teacher. That is all you ever want in a band teacher. Any teacher really. Not teacher should be all that strict, but there are. It's cool that you had more talent then even the seniors. I started playing Trumpet in Elementary. Stopped going to classes because I was tired of playing it. Got back into it in 10th grade and quit in my senior year as I said. I still love hearing other people playing instruments. I am more into writing now than music. I'm actually publishing my book by Sunday hopefully.

I love how this conversation turned around. :)

What other video games do you like?

I could have swore that it had that as an option. Yeah the voice acting is kind of dull TBH.

Isn't that a fighting game though? I'm still interested in it TBH. Even seeing the trailer and what it's about I wasn't really expecting Shakespeare. :p

Lol it is. It makes no sense. They have a story mode, but it's basically the same one for every character. I thought it was cool at first then when I played it..I was like eh...why did I buy this?

Played a good portion of eternal sonata. Loved the battle system. Haven't finished yet because the PS3 HDD was corrupted and I haven't gotten back around to playing.

    Music will never die ;)

I play all kinds of games, rpgs are a favorite but I really have a high standard for the genre now. Almost impossibly high, I find myself getting too disappointed in current games. I keep making the mistake of trying to compare them so some of my favorite rpgs like Lunar, Grandia and worse still Xenogears. Yeah that's setting up for fail :/
Gotta admit though that the first chapter of Legend of Heroes Trails in the Skies is pretty good. Can second chapter break the spell and join the ranks of favorites? Definitely going to buy that one when it's localized and released in the states.

Strategy games I spend a lot of time in, basketball games like 2K hold my interest (but I only buy one for the consoles. Pointless spending over 60$ for a roster update)
First person shooters tend to get old quick but there are a few that will remain forever a keeper. I make maps for classic Doom as a personal hobby, that game really bonded me with my dad and uncle. Let me watch them play on the computer. Good times.
Halo 1 is worth a replay for the campaign. My disc is so dirty and scratched up that sometimes the loading screen bar between levels would start to move backwards and cause a crash. Well I got a computer for that now.
Counterstrike Source is the only online game I bother with (though I find myself playing World of Tanks a lot now)

Yeah I'm like anyone else my age :)

Ahh, it did that with my Blu-Ray DVD's...so I just buy regular DVD's works fine!

I agree the battle system is fun! :)

I'm on chapter 2/8. I stopped playing for a little bit to watch Yu Yu Hakusho!
