    Never watched Beyblade. Seemed too childish imo. Even more so than Pokemon. Well, at least for Pokemon I was young when it came out. Beyblade got a dub in America in what, 2003 or something?

    Tyson and Kai were the shit back in the day. Yea, the show was kinda childish, but it was marketed specifically at children because they'd be the only ones innocent enough to want to buy the merchandise because anyone older than 7 would know that the merch wasn't the same as what the show said it'd be like. Needless to say, it worked on me xD

    But still though, their rivalry was like the aang and ozai rivalry of beyblade. Most of the anime focused on Tyson and Daichi banging heads, but you always knew that in the background, Tyson and Kai were the true rivals. One of them was going to be the best blader in the world, and they had to go through each other in order to do it. I feel like Kai knew that since the beginning, but then Tyson started realizing that as well. That's also why Kai quit the Bladebreakers, because he wanted to play against Tyson to decide who was best once and for all because playing on his team would decide nothing. I feel like their rivalry went much deeper than just banging heads all the time. And nostalgia. Don't forget nostalgia.

    As much as I liked Medabots and the nostalgia is real, Mugen & Jin's rivalry is just too good to go past. "Remember I'm the one that will kill you", best way to see someone off to a fight I'v heard.
    Meanwhile Rokusho turns up late in the eerie and barely fights Metabee, he is simply a cool side character.

    Yeah Rokusho and his human partner were really just the roken rival character because every kids series needs a rival. It's like some kid of rule and he fills the role but just barely. All that I remember about the guy can be summed up in one sentence "I'm so cool and better than everyone but after I lose I'll chill out and be Tsundere towards the MC for the rest of the series" and Rokusho doesn't even have a personality as far as I can remember.

    I'm so glad you watched this show now. This pretty much sums up what i wanted to say about these rivals. They are just awesome both together and against eachother. Also, they are complete strangers who just happened to meet eachother and go through the same shit together which in the end bonded them.
