Important Inactive Groups Report (December 31st 2014)

The newest groups report, courtesy of @Lince.

Same thing goes as the last groups report. All groups not in good standing have one month to show a noticeable increase in activity. This includes more than one person posting in the group, not just the leaders trying to continuously bump it. Inactive group leaders will be tagged below and informed of how to remedy this inactivity. They will also have a courtesy reminder via PM in two weeks.

In terms of the most consistent activity, the RP club and The New Release club have been the most active in this period. As far as I know, there are no missing/inactive leaders this time around other than the L2JP club.

Club Status Report: [Activity for 6 months from July 1st - December 31st 2014]

Clubs labeled in good standing have had enough general activity and/or significant efforts to increase activity, and also have had posts within a month of January 1st, 2015]

AMV Editors Club: 7 posts in last 6 months (Although it is lacking activity, AMVs are a big focus of the site and the club will remain as a source to generate more activity for AMVs of the week and month.)

Anime Cafe: Good Standing

Comic Book Club: Good Standing

DT Shorts Club: 5 posts in last 6 months

Ecchi Lovers Club: Delta's Daily Desktop is basically the only active thread. Might not be worth having a whole club for it.

Film Club: Good Standing

Girls only Society: 10 posts in last 6 months [With the majority being right at the beginning of July]

Japanese Discovery: 16 posts in last 6 months [With the majority being right at the beginning of July]

JD Community Club: 23 posts in last 6 months [With the majority coming from one conversation]

JD Designer's Club: 14 posts in last 6 months [With the majority being right at the beginning of July] (Since a good deal of the site focuses on graphic design this club will remain intact.)

Learn to Japanese!: Club was formed in the last 6 months. No activity since October. Inactive leaders.

DT Shorts Club - @BK-201 and @Supernatural-Knight. If I recall correctly Super mentioned just getting rid of the club. Want an opinion from BK about the matter before its axed.

Ecchi Lovers Club - @Delta @Nimander @Severus. I think I recall Nim wanting to start boosting activity and doing some types of events.

Girl's Only Society - @Natsuru-san @Kiri @Miss Elegent Serenity. I need you three to weigh in on the future plans of the club and your thought of keeping or getting rid of it. On JD.net it was simply one thread on the forum and when one thread is made into an entire club they typically don't turn out very well.

Japanese Discovery - @Keiichi-Morisato. Club has little activity and one thread. Posts might be better off in JustDubs Media section if club is going to continue remaining inactive.

JustDubs Community Club - Myself and @BK-201 are the club leaders. Gonna need some suggestions to help improve club activity from anyone willing to contribute. So far we've been discussing a new podcast and community club meetings but nothing has stuck so far.

JustDubs Designers Club - @Crazy Potato @Jaysp656 @Vishal09x. Although the club is going to remain, because it's more beneficial to have it for community use than it is to remove it, its still going to need to drum up some activity aside from people making requests for sigs. Should consider doing competitions or graphic design battles to drum up some activity.

L2JP - @Blazer. Club is extremely inactive and Blazer has a habit of coming around for a few weeks and then disappearing for a few months. Since he is inactive this club will need an active moderator if it is going to continue existing. If anyone is up for the job feel free to post in this thread.

Light Novel Club - @ThatRandomGinger. For a club like this I would be happy if you guys simply did a monthly activity and read / discussed them together. Monthly is fine if it drummed up the same activity like The Film Club.

Vocaloid Club - @DemonEyesJoe @Kiri. This club is going to need some sort of activities for people to participate in or some sort of regular, active, discussions.

I really dont think people want to talk vocaloid, i tried and tried, I would be the only one posting for the most part, I tried a regular update on artists and vocaloid, but no one seemed to respond. I can try again. But I cant see that much effort going into it again

I believe we are letting it go. When it originally started there were a lot of females that said they were gonna "help keep it going", sadly that was not the case, one left the forum and me and @Natsuru-san were the ones trying to keep it going but we could only do so much. I don't see a point in keeping it going if those that said they were gonna help with it aren't gonna step up to the plate and actually become active in the group. Sorry if this offends anyone but its the truth, it was supposed to be a group effort but only a select few actually worked hard to put it together while others just 'said' they were. Yes we all have lives but several are on here posting elsewhere and not posting here. So it goes to show how important this group fell with them. I pointed out before, there are only a small amount of females on the forum but when none want to help keep the group going its pretty much done for. The only other Idea I had was to make it a Guy vs Gals group or even move it to the asylum and change the name in hopes to get more activity. Allowing the guys (which is a HUGE percentage of this forum) more free range might boost up the post. But limiting where they can post they don't want any part of it. I would say either delete it or move it to the asylum and make it a GvG thread.

That I did, when you first posted that inactive clubs were being axed I posted a single time about it in the club asking if it should continue or go. I got exactly zero responses to it. Being only 10 members big and most barely post in other areas in the first place there really isn't any need to have it around. It just takes up space in the SOS list.
Also BK and myself share all of the shorts via Skype to one another, it just is more efficient this way and why should we share them with people who aren't interested in the first place?

@Sporadic @Miss Elegent Serenity @Kiri At this point, me, Serenity and Kiri have already numerous times discussed a crazy amount of ideas and ways we could make the group succeed, but with no real concrete way and any activity we get would only last for so long since that has always been the nature of the girl's only thread. (Like a Phoenix) There is only two options I see now that we can take.

1. We try a last ditch effort to contact all the girls and see if they WILL, not just simply say they will but actually WILL post in the group again. If they do, I have no doubt the guys would feel more motivated to post in the group again as well, which is what we allowed but with some rules of course.

2. We give up without even trying option 1 (Above) and just move the girl's only thread to where it used to be back in the day, all other threads can simply go into the archived section since the only thread that would be used at some point would be the girl's only thread.

Given these two options, I'd like to hear what Serenity and Kiri has to say as to what we should do and if they can think of a new option we've not already discussed before. As for the Guys vs. girls thread, as I've said to Serenity, that is what the WAR! thread is for and if things went back to the way they were in the old days, that is what the girl's only thread would be about or in part about. As I said, we've discussed countless options and ideas, but it all comes back to people actually caring and simply put, as Serenity said, they're on this site, said they'd help keep the group alive but backed out only 1-2 weeks after the group was created and from there the guys saw this and also slowly left. So unless people care to post, the group WILL fail and will not see any activity. So, my answer is this, if Serenity and or Kiri say they want to try option 1, we'll go with that, however, if both say option 2 then, just move all threads to the archived section please and move the girl's only thread into the place it used to be in the past (The asylum was it?) and inform us of this once it's done please. This is the best we've been able to come up with and I don't see any other alternative at this point.

I see that our time in the hangman's noose has come my ecchi brothers! @Blazer @Severus @Keiichi-Morisato

I would love to make the club more active. But I cannot do it without worthy members! Delta is the only brave soldier we got mannnnnnnnnnnnn.

TLDR (While we have a ass-ton of members, we have no activity besides picture posting because no disscussions are being had.) We could pick any show, watch/rewatch and discuss the awesome ecchi etc etc. Although ecchi itself isn't a very ripe disscussion topic. I'd have more results from a harem club..... Wait that's actually a great idea for later..... Muwhahahahhahahahahhahaah. Genius! or Genious as Karma would say. (If no-one wants the ecchi club anymore we should convert it to a harem club and discuss all sorts of harems, love triangles, comedy tropes, favorite shows, good MCs vs bad and (EDIT) BEST GIRLS OF COURSE) That way we preserve it and create a new direction in one fell swoop. I mean come on... Harems have fucking theory charts.

Well that ended up not being very succinct. Drat.

As for the community club. We really should get a maincast/guestlist going for the podcast. And then build events and discussion around it.

That's the problem with turning one thread into an entire club. It essentially can't facilitate many activities, at least not ones that would be enough to justify an entire club.

Basically you just need to be more active and stop relying on everyone in the club to make it active. They need someone to lead and as the group creator that is your responsibility. It would be as simple as holding a bi-weekly or monthly series to watch and discuss while having random other topics on the side.

If you decide to make a harem Club we'll just rename this club and give it another chance to boost activity. But to be honest if you don't take charge properly it's going to end up the same as the ecchi club.

Well, I think I would be captain obvious to point out that there needs to be more active female members on the site. I can't think of anything, besides Ella's suggestions which I support.

I tried to help by encouraging people to make a video quiz. That seemed to amount to nothing as I don't have much spare time to work on a major project if no one else is willing to help. Plus, time zone differences make it a little difficult to plan a big project. Otherwise, I support the idea of a podcast if people organise it! I'm happy to take part as a guest or something? Otherwise, I can't think of a way of boosting activity. Thanks to instant messaging, general discussions seem to take place on Skype! xD

I'll try to do a monthly thing but to be honest i would say go ahead and close the group. Aside from a few others taking interest in wanting to read most of the postings are from me setting up places to talk about the novels. That and we have a problem of becoming reliant on how fast the translators work (couple series have come to a dead halt over the past 3-4 months because of RL problems and too much on their plate)
