Mafia, the people who made Haganai... DxD... AND Angel beats, did u even really look at the info/trailer? (Hem, I haven't seen the info/trailer that knight put up yet so, maybe it's not as convincing as what I read & saw) Seriously, while it may look and feel that way to you, I believe it'll be it's own story. NOW! If you want a REAL rip off of DxD go watch Kenzen Robo Daimidaler, heck, if you don't count the giant robots, that anime looks like a REAL blatant knock off just from the trailer alone! (No, I've not saw this anime and won't as the trailer didn't do it for me)

I'm going to watch it but I just don't know how much discussion there could be for it. We all know what the show is going to focus on and even if the plot and characters are still good that doesn't make it any easier to discuss. It's better to vote for shows that seem more interesting to discuss.

BTW you should definitely put your second vote on Ansatsu Kyoushitsu. What's not to love about a show where a world destroying alien teaches a class of students trying to kill him?

Agreed calling it a blatant rip off already is being really judgemental anyway. All we know is that it's obviously an ecchi harem show and that it has a similar feel to DxD. There is a different between being inspired by and ripping off guys and just because a show is similar to another isn't enough reason to write it off.

Also as for Kenzen Robo Daimidaler it's not a rip off of DxD at all. It has the perverted protagonist who's battle power is powered by Ero but that is the only similarity. For me the show was a joy to watch in a stupid fun way. The plot was ridiculous the villains absurd and over the top but it never took itself seriously. It didn't pretend to be a serious anime about war or death or anything it knew it was a stupid ecchi anime and it rolled with that from start to finish. Basically if you don't like ecchi you might not like this show but if you can at least tolerate it then the show can actually be pretty fun to watch..... except for when they replace the perveted MC with that stupid kid for like a third of the anime. That was kind of annoying.

 

Daimidaler was great. TNK did well.
Now TNK needs to get on the ball with Serirei Tsukai.

And let's not forget DxD BorN and OVA3 coming this year~!

 

Ok girls, boys, I have 1 anime left to vote for, some seem, interesting while others less so. If you want your anime to win, try to convince me to vote for your anime. I am conflicted on what to vote for but will do so anywhere from the next 12 hrs from now to 2 days from now. (So Saturday night at the latest)

I won't say anything neg or pos about it, or any other anime till ya'll have had a chance to convince me buuut, I WOULD like to hear why everyone decided to vote for the anime they did? My 1 vote so far is simply because the people who made DxD, Angel Beats & Haganai are making it, that and the story and what I saw sounds interesting. (Albeit who knows if it'll be any good but with those 3 big name anime, I expect great things)

As for my 2nd vote, I could simply vote for the underdog to help insure something else doesn't win but, that's not right or fair and I play by fairness here.

No, we DON'T know what it'll be about. All we know is the gen premise of the beginning of the story. If u watch the trailer u see all kinds of enemies atking them and even then we aren't shown much of the over all chars, setting, story etc. Keep in mind, this is an anime that's coming from the genius' behind Angel beats, Haganai AND DxD. All 3 anime are really popular and have a lot going for them not to mention each does something that practically no other anime or at least most don't do. Example, DxD S2 said someone was dead (I'm being vague on purpose to avoid spoilers) and for this type of char, u NEVER HEAR this type of char is dead. It also does a perfect job of evenly mixing ecchi with story for S1, not to mention the MC is powerless yet at the same time has all the power one could want. There's more but, moving on..

Angel beats takes us into a world where, the people there are dead already, can die yet, not die, they must take on "Angel" in hopes of lashing ut at the unfairness they were given and as a way to lash out at God. What awaits them, I know, but what 1st time views don't know is a story filled with such touching emotions and stories. By the end, odds are, you'll be crying. This here is a premise that hardly any anime do, not to emntion, it's filled with a lot of sadism which while that may turn u off to hear, it is actually what helps make u laugh and also what helps define the chars. (No, they are not masochists or sadists, it's difficult to explain)

Haganai, 2 people form a club (boring, been done) and this club's purpose is, for only people who don't have any friends but want them to join and they then partake in trying to learn how to "make" and "keep" friends. This here is what defines this whole series and makes the club forming not boring at all. What awaits them and us is many adventures flled with so much awesomeness and, for once, the blonde big breasted girl is NOT a baka but is actually smart. Yeah, go figure.

I am bad at making a story sound good, trust me, whoever is reading this, these anime are 100 or more x better than I make them sound.

You'll have to convince me if u want me to vote for it. I can think of PLENTY of things for why I shouldn't vote or watch it. #1 being, we get to know all these chars, the set up has them either kill the teach or be killed, unless they go the route of, other (Alien changed his mind) then, this means we'll be really saddened by the death of a char'(s) we love, nt to mention it's a HUGH CAST and even then the cast doesn't look that memorable really. That's just the main thing, there are other reasons for why I shouldn't vote for it or watch it, but hence why I'm open to people trying to change my mind, doubts, worries etc. for ALL these anime.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't call Kenzen Robo Daimidaler a rip off either, however, the whole set up is what turns me off for the show. I don't like pointless ecchi and him getting his powers through that way is, pointless to me, it is just fan service and it's also why I've not watched that Quazar anime yet because the same premise is the case there.

 

I think you're over thinking it. The manga is rather popular and from what I know he is a surprisingly good teacher but he still fully inteneds to destroy the earth (meaning I don't think you'll feel too sorry for whatever happens to him). The series is listed as a comedy not a tragedy though so while this premise could have some serious moments I wouldn't expect anything too depressing. So it's definitely worth checking out although I have not read the manga myself so I don't know anything beyond the premise and it's apparently high rating. At the very least it's more promising than a lot of other stuff this season.

BTW speaking of Qwasar there is only one reason to try watching this.... for the WTF factor. I watched this years ago back when I watched pretty much anything I heard of so I really had no idea what I was getting myself into but it's just weird. The "Climactic" final battle has this one scene that was just so over the top and silly I could barely keep watching. However the action was surprisingly good and I'm not kidding. It's filled with fan service and has no shame in this but if you look past the fan service the show itself actually isn't that bad and if you can just laugh at how over the top the fan service is you might enjoy the show overall.

Daimidaler is similar to it in that sense except it actually makes more sense in how it uses it's fan service as a plot device (Yes Daimidaler is more logical than Qwasar) and if you liked DxD you really should at least give it a shot. The shows aren't THAT similar but they are close enough that a fan of one has a decent chance of being a fan of the other. Plus Daimidaler parodies a lot of Mecha stuff so if you like Mecha at all that's a plus.

 

And that's one reason as to why I'll watch the anime

 

I'd actually compare testament to TO-LOVE-Ru in terms of plot, Basara is alright-ish, not exactly what you're watching it for.
You're watching it for HOT SEXY DEMONS OH MY GOD.

For the sexy twins in episode 11 of the first season.
That's the only episode you need to watch.
