Rather than Google it, I'd rather have someone let me know. I know there is a snow storm across America at the moment, and I was wondering if there was snow in the dessert state?

I don't know about Arizona, but I know Wisconsin has plenty of snow to go around. Anyone is free to take some home if they'd like.

Arizona is a higher elevation desert than where I live, Las Vegas Nevada. We're low desert and we get snow like once every 6 years if we're lucky. So snow isn't impossible to get, just extremely unlikely.

The storm that made headlines recently occurred in the South US. So Atlanta got 2 inches and Houston got something like .5 inches. It didn't go very much further west than that, at least I don't think El Paso got any...

So after hearing about the storm today, how about now? All 50 states huh?

Don't remind me of the frozen tundra that looms outside. Snow shouldn't be here until December.

Nope, pretty much all the same states that always get snow are getting snow.

Dat climate change. Even in Las Vegas we were 39 degrees the other night. That's pretty unheard of for us even in mid-late winter.

Yeah, the deal was that 49 out of 50 got freeze warnings. For some reason a lot of people have told me Hawaii didn't get a freeze warning but everybody forgot it when checking for it. Freeze means that it went below 0 Celsius and thus caused pipes to burst, frost to form, and water freezing if left out. Georgia's still clean of snow to my knowledge so far, even in the north Georgia mountains. However this is super early in the year so another snowpocalypse might be happening again. If moisture comes when the area in front of it is still colder than freezing, that's when big amounts of snow happen, even in normally warmer states.
And to be clear, the desert states seem like they should be clean of snow, but these are also the mountain states, so most of the time, whether you get snow or rain depends on your elevation. The Eastern south is more likely to get bigger amounts of snow if it does happen because we're less arid than the desert states.

Yeah, I live in low desert but the mountain (Mt Charleston) near us is over 6k elevation and regularly sees snow after November. And its a nice 40 minute drive away so it's practical for us desert dwellers when we wanna see some nature.

I want snow so bad. So much rain where I live in northern California the past couple of days. The mountain I live at the base of is all ready covered can't wait for the snow to overtake.

I think it's southeastern California in a drought.
Long story short, the US is huge. In one part of it 5 feet of snow is common whereas in another even an inch is an extraordinary event.

At least when your snow comes you have snow plows and such. When snow hits anywhere that I've lived, we have salt trucks and that's it. Everyone freaks out about it and the cities basically shut down. I'm not saying I'd trade, but there are advantages to living where snow is slightly more common in a harsh winter.

Depends where you are, California is pretty big along the coast so it is mostly southern California that is in the drought but it is in places up here in northern California too. Like here where I live we get most of are water from the mountain. So unless the mountain goes dry of snow and ice like it almost completely did this year, which the heat resulted in a glacier the size of town breaking off and falling/or sliding down the mountain and flash flooding an area around 7 miles out of town.

Which I should have noticed that day because I was doing an art thing that day and was sketching the mountain, I don't remember if it was before or after lunch but after lunch I looked up at the mountain to resume sketching and something was different. I did not know what it was till later when all the art done that day was on display. Then I think the fire chief was talking with someone about it and that's when I heard about it.

    >_< sorry went off topic there, but yeah we get rain here at least in northern Ca. Oh and snow in the winter too, though last year we got very little where I live. Hoping for a lot this year.

I've never seen snow in life, one of the downsides of living in Aus I guess. Some rare areas get natural snow in winter but this time of year is way out of the question. Currently going through a mini heatwave for the 3rd day I think, news says it should continue tomorrow as well.
The perks of having Christmas in Summer, yeah I can't think of any.
