    The simpliest way to refer to Naraku is a Chimera. One made out of ugly demons.

    You see Naraku started out as a bandit named Onigumo until he was nearly killed and left with burns all over his body and was completely paralyzed. He would have died if the pristess Kikiyo hadn't saved him. Because of this he fell in love with her and desired her so much he summoned demons to devour and merge with him in order to get a body that could move again. Thus he essentially became a half demon (Having a human heart but demon body) but his demon half had other plans besides f***ing a priestess and thus the story begins.

    Naraku normally looks pretty human like but his true form (which changes throughout the series) normally looks like a mass of tentacles, random demon parts, and even organs and because all those parts came from ugly looking demons that makes him look even worse. Although he normall leaves at least his dead and maybe torso in human form assumably because he's still technically part human.

    His body also emmits a powerful Miasma that litterally turn humans to bones and dust in mere second and even many demons who produce Miasma as well can't take the potency of Naraku's Miasma and die if overexposed.

    Lastly Naraku has the ability to absorb and/or spit out demons. But the demons he spits out are not the same ones that came in and are chimeric abominations just like his (except these things are full demon). So if you though Naraku was ugly some of his spawn are even worse.

    In terms of personality he is pure evil and will kill hundreds of people while laughing or will ruin peoples lives with tricks and manipulation to get what he wants.
