"I'm sorry I'll clean it up....please...don't hurt me"

Zach looked over towards Leah, and saw the broken glass. Leah was almost frozen to the spot, he could see fear in her eyes. He went to her, and put his hands on her shoulders.

“Leah, it’s me. You’re fine, you just cut yourself a bit. I promise I won’t hurt you, you know that.” Zach said this, and wrapped his arms around her for a bit. Once she had calmed down, he sat down next to her

“So I guess some of your memories have started to come back. I’m going to guess this was not one of the better ones?”

 

This new morning training session had begun today. Naturally Locks was paired up against Jet, and to make it fair he had to fight Jess at the same time.
"I'm not holding back this time Locks."
"I'd be insulted if you did."
Jet charged at Locks throwing wind scythe after wind scythe. Locks was dodging them easily but he had no time to attack. Just as locks was about o fire a quick chain shot to restrain Jet Jess yelled.
"Hes about to fire chains."
When the chain launched Jet had already set up a wind barrier.
"My turn to lead."
Locks ran towards the barrier. A metal pipe turned to chain and shot into Locks' hand. It sharpend at the end and formed a sort of sword.. Locks cut the wind barrier and jumped through the gap before it closed again. Locks did an uppercut in the air and a chain flew out of the ground and hit Jet with an uppercut. He regained his balance and backed away from Locks.
"Jess your supposed to warn me about his attacks!"
"Sorry hes moving really quickly."
Locks readied some materials to fire out.
"Jet chain shots incoming."
"Got it!"
Jet dodged everyone of them. Locks closed his eyes. His field of vision shifted and he was viewing the battle from above. Every time Jet attacked Locks blocked. Jess was a problem when ever he attacked, he needed to put her out of comision without hurting her. She was reading his thoughts so....."
"GROSS!"
Jess started gagging and tripped onto the ground. Before Jet could even comprehend the situation He was wrapped in chains and on the ground.
"What the hell did you do to her?"
"I thought of this time in school where this kid threw up and it caused everyone else to vomit everywhere."
"Gross. But effective."
"Just gross. Really gross."
Locks untied Jet and helped Jess up, they walked over to the sidelines to watch the other battles.

 

Zach smiled at Leah, and wrapped his arms around her again, pulling her closer to him. He hadn’t put a shirt on yet, he was just in his shorts, so Leah felt warm and soft to him.

“Sounds like growing up wasn’t the best for you. But you’re here now with us, and we will always be here for you. I actually had an interesting dream last night. It started out with a flashback to when I worked with my father in a lab. Then, he showed up. It seems like we do have an ally who knows a lot about the labs, and what he told me has me worried. Apparently there is an experiment who goes by the name of Throne, and her ability is what scares me. She can take over another person’s body, and her companions are no slouch either. I’m hoping that training will help me get strong enough to fight against them, because they are after you.”

Zach gave her one last hug, and kissed her on the cheek. “I’m going to go and train with the others for a while, so I’ll be back in a bit. You take it easy, I don’t need you to scare me like that again.”

 

Zenma's backup plan called for someone to get separated and be used as bait. To imagine Leonard would volunteer for that duty was a surprise.

Zenma was leading his team a short distance behind Shapeshifter. Not close enough to spook him, not far enough to lose him either. Leonard would most likely lead Shapeshifter towards the sewer pump station. There they close the pumps in front of the station trapping him in the narrow walls of the tunnel. If they misstime the gate closing though they will end up trapping him inside the station with Leonard.

Leonard was running towards the pumping station, with luck he will get to a good position where he could trap Shapeshifter inside the tunnel.

The pumping station was underground, several tunnels where the wastes from the city converge to this point. The tunnels were gated to control the flow of wastes that went into the station. With careful manipulation of the pumping controls Leonard could use the controls to close the gates on the tunnel. Shapeshifter would be trapped between the gate and the pursuers behind him while Leonard would remain safe inside the station on the other side of the gate.

It's a complicated plan, it was why we only wanted to use this as the backup in case we couldn't nab him out in the wider tunnel. If I close the gate too early then Shapeshifter will realize that this route is a deadend. If I close it too late...
Leonard would be trapped inside the station with Shapeshifter.
Worse comes to worst I'll shoot this bastard up with my gun
He had a head start running ahead of shapeshifter, his distant snarls could be heard behind him. He was getting close.

Leonard made it to the pumping station controls and looked back. Without fail Shapeshifter was running down that narrow tunnel straight to the station.
"Gameover"
Leonard pulled the gate lever

Zed wakes up in a cell and sees a flashing light.
"Welcome back."
Zed sits up on the bench and looks to his left.
"Ashley was it?"
Ashley smiles
"Im glad you remember me."
Zed looks around the cell, he sees its the same cell from before. He turns back to Ashley who is just staring at him.
"Mind telling me why i come to this dream?"
"Dream?"
"Yes Dream."
"Well probably because you feel guilty."
"Guilty?"
"Well, you are in a prison cell."
"True, but i don't think thats it."
Ashley smiles again
"Well if you think like that."
Zed looks at Ashley who is still smiling, he closes his eyes for a second and opens them back up. Darkness, Zed is back to floating in the dark void. Zed can't keep his eyes open, they start to close. Finally his eyes closes, he hears a voice go through his head
"You will be seeing me a little be later, ______."

 

OOT- After flipping a coin to determine whether Leo traps himself or not, the decision is...

The heavy flood gate slammed shut in the face of Shapeshifter.
"GAHH!"
"Not fast enough! Now! Grab him!"

Zenma's team that was trailing behind Shapeshifter went into the narrow tunnel, Slasher in front with Zenma right behind him to knock Shapeshifter to the iron gate. Shapeshifter was howling, banging at the iron gate to swing open and let him free. It was to no avail, the trap was sprung and the noose started to tighten.

Zenma was calling from behind.
"When we immobilize him you can open the gate and get his memories! Slasher, go for his arms first then take his legs off."

Shapeshifter turned around to attack his pursues but Zenma, with the force of his punch knocked him back to the gate. Slasher then proceeded to cut both arms of Shapeshifter right off. The inhuman scream Shapeshifter let out reverberated in the tunnel walls. Then he loss both of his legs as the whip like sounds of Slashers cutting move removed the limbs from his body.

Shapeshifter was moaning in agony. The end for him was coming.
"Now Leonard! Open the gate and get his memory!"

Leonard pulled the lever again to open the gate and made his way to the scene. This had to be done fast, there was no way to tell if Leonard could retrieve the key location if his target was dead. That was one bridge they did not want to cross. With Zenma holding back the head of the howling Shapeshifter, Leonard dove into his memories.

 

"Get up, it's morning"
"Eh huh what, fuck if it is..... you people call it morning but the sun isn't even up"
"Just shut up and get up, we are about to have breakfast, besides you are one to talk Mr Drool"
My face turned a tad red at the face frost pointed that out, Do i drool in my sleep, I don't know. I finally open my eyes fully and see Frost was already fully dress and bout to head into the living room. I put my shirt on and follow after eating the soup and bread for breakfast, back to the usual i suppose.
"Hey shouldn't we wake Leah and Zach up?"
"Yeah, give me a minute"
A few seconds later Frost comes back with annoying look on her.
"Something wrong...."
"Neither of them would budge, and Zach, god does he snore.....I wonder how leah puts up with it"
"ehehe well they wake up soon I'm sure"
"They sleep all day they end up not gaining any strength"
With that Atlas, Echo, Frost and I head out to the warehouse

We did the lot system again, and again i ended up against Frost. But one thing was different this time, she actually took a stance against me.
"Alright same as last time, First to knock the other down 3 times is the winner"
"Ready?"
"Aye"
"Yes"
"Bring it Lad"
"BEGIN"
Atlas and Echo sparred as usually, but Frost and I where hesitant. The she disappeared and tit began, She would close in i'd jet away offense and defense would switch back and forth. Soon she got the lead, then i got one tieing it up. Then she pulled ahead again. All the while ice spikes, fireballs and the like being flung at each other. Soon Locks Jess and Jet joined in the training forming their own little group. Seems they were aiming to kill.
"Hey, don't go all out. If you do and kill someone it's on you" Atlas says while swinging a steel beam at Echo
"Not very conniving Atlas....." Echo sends a blast of sound causing the steel to vibrate tremendously and it falls out of his hands.
Soon after Frost defeated me 3-2 and the sun had popped up. Seemed we spent a hour or two training and Zach and Leah still hadn't shown up.

Frost, Echo Atlas and I all start heading back as we had done enough of a warm up before we get to work. When we entered back into the house we saw something very interesting.
“I’m going to go and train with the others for a while, so I’ll be back in a bit. You take it easy, I don’t need you to scare me like that again.”
"I'm sorry I scared you like that, I promise I'll take it easy, go have fun with your training. I'm just going to clean up a bit here. I'll find something to do while you are all training. "
Leah smiled at him, leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek before heading to the bathroom to clean up her hands and bandage them. Neither of seemed to notice we had come into the room.
"Well morning love birds, this explains why we didn't see you"
"Hmmmmm this could be a problem considering the room arrangements..... Just don't make too much noise, we all got to sleep you know"
Echo and Atlas bot made free stabs at Zach. Frost on the other hand takes a rather sterner tone.
"You talk about protecting her but with what? For now your snoring is the only strong point you have, next time when we say early morning, we mean early morning. Honestly neither of you even moved when i tried calling you"
"She's right i saw her call, I hate mornings too man so don't feel to bad"

 

OOT: Whoops, I did it again. Sorry for the late reply, I got caught up doing stuff and things and it looks like I've missed quite a few posts.


After waking up, Claus happened to notice some of the others going out. They mentioned something about "training," which didn't really interest him at first.
"But, on the other hand...it would be a perfect opportunity to find out what everyone here is capable of. Hmm. I suppose I could postpone my plans for now."
He shrugged and stood up, making his way to the warehouse where the others went.

"You talk about protecting her but with what? For now your snoring is the only strong point you have, next time when we say early morning, we mean early morning. Honestly neither of you even moved when i tried calling you"

"It looks like they're taking a short rest right now."
He mulled over that statement a little more.
"Protect her...they must mean Leah. It's quite ironic, really. The one among us with the potential to become the most powerful still needs "protection" because of her inexperience."
Keeping these thoughts to himself, he spoke up to make his presence known.
"So, this is your training grounds, hmm? I thought I might join you all for a while if you don't mind. After all, I still have a long way to go developing my power as well."

 

Hunger and pain. A hunger that consumes the mind and a pain that paralyzis the body. These were the only things that inhabit the body of the being that calls itself Shapeshifter.
"Where is the key! Where is it!"
Shapeshifter's memories were a blur, he was in danger of falling unconscious. Leonard prodded Shapeshifter with questions, anything to get him to think of the key he guarded so well
"The key! The abandoned lab beneath the city, how do you get to it! Think!"
It was no good, only hunger and pain consumed the mind of Shapeshifter
"Ask him something else, maybe you'll get a clue" That was Zenma, he and Slasher were pinning the subject down on the ground
"Who do you work for? What is your mission!?"

That did the trick. Shapeshifter was conditioned to follow his orders down to the wire. His mind a torrent of images, Leonard picked one at random

They were in hall, a group of hunters were lined up as if in attention. "Now then, you are never to give your keycard to any nonbase personal. That includes members from the other labs, they maybe saboteurs."
A memory from the past? No, that's not it. Something closer...

Sirens going off. The hallways were covered with a dense foliage of wildlife, the plants seemed to be...carnivorous. A voice could be heard from the speaker phones "Attention all lab personal. We have loss total control of Project Amazon, the lab has taken extensive damage and we are sealing the way in and out of the labs in 5 minutes to prevent the outspread of the project to the surface. All personal are advised to evacuate the facility and await further orders from the director... what the hell is tha-! GAH!" TATIC:

No not that, almost there...
Shapeshifter was on his last breath, his heart rate was way to high. He was bleeding out.
"Damn you! What's your mission!"

An orphanage home. It was a perfect setup. The pastor there was an old friend of mine. We agreed that in exchange for feeding me and keeping my treasure safe, I would keep the hunters off his back.

Shapeshifter coughed up blood violently, he took several short and rapid breaths then became still. He was dead.

"Well did you find where the key is?"
"No, but I found someone who does"

OOT- Okay the sewers is free to use once again. Why you would want to use it I don't know, it's such a drab and dreary place

 

Stalk had done some questioning, done some research, seen a few things and files and classified data and whatnot, and had found the location of their little retreat.
But, he asked himself, what do I do now? If I approach in such a way that aggression is intended, people will panic and my mission will be a failure.

The thought of disappointing Throne made his chest ache.

If I could stop being a lovesick child for maybe ten seconds... ah. Occam's Razor, such an underrated concept.
He went to a nearby tailor's and got dressed. Smart, a business suit, white tie. There was very little that could be done for his face, sadly, so he instead settled on just combing the patch of hair they'd left him back so it looked respectable. He was clean shaven, though facial hair mattered very little to him. No-one noticed that, compared to the eyes.

He started walking towards their hideout, of sorts, and before long came across a strange training ground. Slicks of ice and charred soil gave the game away that there were quite a few definite powerhouses. So he decided to sit on a bench - after brushing it off - and looked up at the sky, wondering how long he'd have to wait.

He woke up. Instantly he felt the annoying feeling of something round his neck, and he reached up to -
BZZZT!
HE WAS SO HUNGRY! He looked around, starving, begging for some juicy meat to show itself, to offer itself to his oh-so-empty mouth -
BZZZT!
He moaned in pain, struggling to stay upright under the electrical currents pulsing through his nervous system. He clawed at his neck, frantically, desperate to get it off -
BZZZT!
Something moved and he bit into it, hard, feeling pain erupt in the roof of his mouth but not caring as there was MEAT on whatever he was biting, and he tore it off the hook.

"Gevaudan?"
Gevaudan snapped to attention, hiding the fishing rod behind his back.
"Yes, er, ma'am?"
Throne gave him a look that stated quite plainly he was not fooling anyone. "If I catch you abusing him again, I will feed him your limbs. Honestly, you have a real problem with animals. Even back before, you always tortured them." She shivered in disgust. "I never knew why Martin was ever your friend."
"Saved his ass once or twice. And you watch your little sister get her eyes clawed out by a cat, and her throat torn out by a dog a month later, and then you walk on back and tell me about not wanting to kill every dirty piece of vermin that crosses your path."
He held out the fishing rod. "Want to try?"

He had trailed them, waiting to... negotiate with Zed's apparent handler. He stepped out once they had stopped, hoping his handler, a man who seemed to answer to Mr Red, had noticed him following and deduced he was not a threat. "Now that he's out, can we talk?"

“Well, I was wondering how long it would stay secret, oh well. That’s why I’m training with you guys. I know I have my weak points, I plan on getting stronger with them.” Zach said. He went to the room, and put on a shirt. Then he walked out to the warehouse, and found some scrap iron nearby. He grabbed it, and let his arm transform. He could feel more power rush through his arm, and he grabbed another piece of iron. He was able to morph it into a blade, and melded it to his arm.

“Well, this could prove very useful. But there is one technique I have to try. Hopefully I can remember it, last time I did this was 4 years ago. If I want to get stronger, I have to master it.”

Zach sat down on the floor, and closed his eyes. He remembered sword fighting during his martial arts classes. His teacher at the time taught him many defensive skills, and only a handful of combat skills. Zach caught onto the sword techniques fast, and he remembered one move in particular.

He put his metal hand on the ground, and concentrated. Zach could feel the metal running through the area, in the warehouse, under the ground. He let some of the energy in his arm flow into the ground, and seep into some of the metal underground. Zach felt the ground shake underneath him, and two pieces of iron popped out from under the ground. He then took those pieces, and formed them into blades, with handles at the end. Grabbing them, he took up a fighting stance.

“It’s time to see how well I can work with this technique.” Zach then tensed up, and ran forward with a lot of momentum in his steps. He then took a sharp left in the middle of the steps, and jumped. Just as he was about to land, he felt a sharp pain, and nearly crashed into the wall. He managed to roll away at the last moment.

“Damn, it still needs work. Should have known that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off without practice.” Zach said this as he limped back to the base

 

They decided to wait until morning to confront the pastor in the orphanage home. To think the man there was using the homeless as potential meals for Shapeshifter was sicking. Well that ends today, with Shapeshifter dead no one would have to be sacrificed for his appetite. The pastor may have been doing it for his own safety but their were lines you couldn't cross.
At least that's how Leonard felt. Zenma really didn't care what the guy did to survive the hunters, he just wanted that key.

"We get that key today. I don't know who that man is or why the hunters are after him. What I do know is that he is not bound to this place as Shapeshifter was. Once he learns that his protector is dead he may leave the city, taking what I need with him! Find him and pry the information out of him!"

"Got it doctor, I'll take Slasher with me, I don't expect resistance"
Well he didn't seem willing to fight the last time I busted in his door

The office of Miguel Batista, president and CEO of PlasmiumTech Corporation.

"So as you can see Mr. President, my skills are most suitable to lead our corporation to the next level. My team has made rapid progress in the manipulation of Plasmium. Give me 5 months and I'll have a working prototype suit, 2 years and I could develop weapons that are fueled by it's energy. Now that we discovered how to prevent the sickness that accompinies the gel, we can move forth and-"

"That's enough" Miguel waved his hand to silence the man.
"Steven...Blight you said? No, I will not move this company towards weapon technology. That has been my bedrock creed ever since I started this company."
"But sir! Our profits will skyrocket! The military will-"
"Do nothing. This is my enterprise, that gel was only to be made as a pharmaceutical product. Your request is denied. You are dismissed"

Steven looked like he could throw a fit but the cold eyes of the president made him think twice and he walked out of the room

Miguel Batista let out a sigh.
My son was the only one who knew how to lead this company. Please forgive your weak father, I caved into my fear

 

"Hahahahahaha!"
Locks was laughing hysterically at Echo and Atlas' comments on what they had just seen.
"Im going for a walk."
"Mind if I come bro."
"Not at all."
Locks and Jet walked out of the house and began to walk towards the other where houses.
"You know what I really want right now?"
"What?"
"Hamburger and fries."
"I know what you mean, ever since I got here I've just wanted to eat porkchop."
"I miss soda."
"Same."
Locks sat down on some metal girders. Jet took one opposite to him. Thy sat down and decided to relax there for a bit.
*Rustle *Rustle. A sound could be heard from the bush near them. A snow white owl flew out and went off into the distance.
"Weird."

As Zach walked out a few minutes had pasted since Leah left for the bathroom
"Hmmm I'll go check on her..."
"Alright then"
"Well That concludes our little warm up, normally we would be out trying to make it look like we are in business but seeing as we are still under the shut down we can only wait and plan"
"Echo's right so for now lad do what ever it is you want to.I'll be looking over a few plans, see if we can't disturb anything local"
"And i'll see about contacting the other sets of the resistance, let them know we are all right and even have new members. Might see if anyone needs extra crew, see if we can get some shipped out if they want to go"
As Atlas and Echo set of to do their own things Frost was trying to talk to leah. I guess i'll stick around a bit before heading out for a walk in the district. After that see about a little power experimenting..

I got to the bathroom to find Leah, but the door is closed. Strange it only looked like a little cut, she should need the door closed for that. Maybe she had to go? Atleast she has enough sense to close the door, shuttered at the memory of first meeting and staying with Echo and Atlas. They left the door wide open without any reguard to who walked by. Needless to say that changed quick.
"Leah, you alright? Also.... do you still want to trade....meaning you teach me...... how to cook,and i help you with your powers best i can"

I got on my signal booster and try to call up some of the others, let them know what's up. The booster works off of being able to translate Sound energy into electrical and vice a versa, all I had to do was pick a certain 'channel' and i could send it to to a receiver of the same 'channel'. Seeing as i set the other base as universal all i had to do was point in the direction of base i wanted. Thankfully we are so spread out each group is in it's own direction so no change of getting the wrong person. the first one i try to call is an electro-user,as she picks up the signal best because of how the booster works.Becuase of of her power's nature she is over in an industrial area of the city, as her power drains and can mess with anything in that area making her very power. She is also cute but.....
"Whacha want Ping?"
Her attitude leaves much to desired.....
"How many times do i have to tell you Miko, it's ECHO not ping"
"Eh its all the same Ping so there a reason yall callin"
irritated i decide to stoup to her level
"Well Biri Biri, i just wanted to......"

"Sis please calm down, he's just egging you on. Ignore his childish game and maybe he'll talk with...."

"Good, just thought I'll let you know our district's been close for a couple days. We are fine thought"

"Well.... you can call it hell as that pretty much sums it up. Had a escapee come in, then 3 more, then a group of hunters. and even another one came"
"Sounds like yall full team then"
"Over actually, another thing i called was to ask if you need anyone? I don't know if any plan on leaving this area or just stay with our group but if you need them and they want to go.."
"What i gotta work with here?"
"NO~! SIS NO~! WE GOT ENOUGH PEOPLE TAKING YOUR ATTENTION FROM ME"
"KURO HOW MANY TIMES DO I TELL YOU DON'T YELL THAT SORTA THING WHEN IM ON THE BOOSTER! DON'T WANNA HAVE THEM THINKING ME AND YOU ARE SOMETHING!"

Ugh here we go, Kuro right had of Miko and teleporter. Despite calling her 'sis' they aren't really sisters, however seems Kuro has developed a strong attachment to Miko which at times almost seems in a romantic sense. Haaaah~ these girls are too much some times.....

I see Echo has a face of annoyance, seems lad is having trouble with Miko again. Turning back i look at the hand drawn map of the area, it had our and the surroundings district's layouts. We had to scout out the city by head before Echo fashioned that 3d glove of his. However seeing as he is currently occupied I'm using the old paper ones. Hmmm seems from reports the diverted the cash follow from our district to the adjacent. So they take the pay we normally would get and decide to bank it else. Which would cut us out of being paid for work lost during the shut down, having a stealth job taking that cash back would definitely make things a bit easier. May need to call in Kuro and Miko to get it and we distribute throughout all groups.. Another possible job would be just raids for weapons, but open attacks would just bring more attention to us. maybe steal a uniform or two and have an inside job. I study the map and then remember what had happened just last night, Blaze had pretty much welded the pipe on open. This is good, as it means they would have to shut off all water in the surrounding areas just to get this district. Doing the same to those districts as well make the ring wider until they would take ALL the city just to get us. However the risk of not being able to seal off a toxin or contamination in our area has just reached 100%, always with the damn double edges. Still deep in thought i look over the areas and what we could do.
