The New Release Club's General discussion

No (I did for a while but I remember someone saying you were female at some point in the past) but I keep forgetting especially when I'm in the middle of typing and not really thinking about it.

Okay well I've watched the first three episodes and it's not bad.

The first thin that strikes me is I really like the opening as well as the music that plays near the end of episode 1. So this anime seems to have a pretty nice sound track. The MC is interesting IMO as well. He seems rather emotionless (He sees missles flying and calmly turns to his friends and says there are missles...You'd just have to see it) but there does seem to be emotion there. When one of his friends dies he doesn't freak out about it but he does show a bit of determination to fight and when he takes out the enemy mech in episode 3 that did it he makes a "This is for him " type statement. So it's clear he does have emotions but he's not really showing them on his face which makes him rather hard to read. So he's non expressive but not in a boring way exactly. Plus he's very competent as he came up with a rather clever plan of attack than helped them defeat the enemy mech that a ton of other guys couldn't handle. I won't spoil the plan for you but it was rather clever how he beats the mech. So if nothing else it seems like it's going to be interesting to see how he fights the enemy. Because unlike a lot of other Mecha shows he has no super powers (Normal guy), he has no super mech (His mech is the same one common soldiers use), and he has no special family connections (His sister is in the army but that's it.). He might somehow get a special mech later but for now he has nothing to rely on but cunning and wit and you don't see that in mecha shows too much. The rest of the cast doesn't seem too bad either but they haven't had time to do much yet besides following the MC's plan so all I can think to say about them for now is that they didn't ruin the show or anything. Oh BTW make sure you stick around for the after credits scene on episode 3... I found it very satisfying.

Yeah, no. I found next to nothing enjoyable about it. My uni friends all seem to be into it too... so because of them, and you guys here, I'm honestly starting to think that everyone has shit taste except for me.

What an ugly little shit.

 

It's still a pretty enjoyable show though. Like I said before how much you like it depends on how funny you find the jokes. Maddy apparently rofl over a lot of that stuff while I don't go that far but it does get more laughs out of me than most shows.

Also I don't really see anything wrong with Sakura but she is pretty much the sole source of romantic theme in this series so that might be why you don't like her.

You know I meant good Monogataste. Whether it's good overall taste is yet to be seen.
Genuine question: Why do you think that a character needs something to be protected against before you can say you want to protect them?
Anyaway, she probably does need protecting; from me.
