    @Metazoxan about Aldnoah Zero, it is one of the series I was waiting on an opinion before starting and as of yet I still haven't so much as watched the opening. I am well aware of Urobuchi's tendencies but I just can't be sure, if you did start this one I'd be more interested in what you thought about it as well.
    The dark series that are definitely darker in tone that I know are Zankyou no Terror, Tokyo Ghoul and Akame ga Kill, I thought you'd have to pick from one of these when I first brought it up.

    when I said I'd try Darker I didn't mean ful on horror or bloody anime. I've read enough of Akame ga Kill's manga to know I'm not going to watch it's anime any time soon and the other two are horror.

    I just meant that normally I like to avoid tragic series especially ones where main characters die. So watching a series from a guy known for doing just that is unusual for me. I didn't plan to dive straight into horror.

    @Metazoxan oh so not completely bloody or horror, damn I thought you wanted to dive straight into the twisted world of more adult oriented anime. There is actually a slight chance you could like Akame ga Kill's adaptation. It looks and feels like a shounen for the most part but then goes darker with the scenes you know exist in it. Originally I was going to skip it because it looked too kid-ish for me, although using the MC as my avatar says that I've had a change of heart about this show.
    And yeah Tokyo Ghoul is a type of horror, but Zankyou no terror is a psychological thriller about terrorists trying to take down the government. It is quite good and revolves around riddles and mind games, oh and spectacular explosions as well.

    So people can die in all of these series, but at least Zankyou no Terror isn't a horror series.

    No I have never and never plan to like bloody anime or horror. I just thought I should at least try some shows that I normally avoid like ones where main characters have a good chance of dying at some point. Which is why I picked Aldnoah Zero. I'm definately not doing Akame ga Kill because I've already seen some of the manga and that's enough for me. The shock would be lost on my and all that would really be left would be having to watch the brutal scenes.

    I keep forgetting to subscribe to this, and screw reading 50 pages back.
    So here is what Im currently watching.
    Hanayamata and Barakamon are perfect. (@Supernatural-Knight is safe... for now)
    Momo Kyun Sword and Rail Wars! are mediocre, even for ecchi.
    Akame Ga Kill. Love the special style drawing for kills and such.
    Nokazi-Kun is a less funny version of Comic Artist, still good though
    Himegoto is a hilarious short.
    Shin Strange+ is well, strange. Just like S1
    Yamishibai 2 isnt really as good as the first.
    Space Dandy S2 is marginally a bit better than S1
    Aldnoah.Zero is really good for a mech/space anime. [Music by Kalafina helps]

    Full list, including Jinsei, Zankou no Terror, Tokyo ESP, Tokyo Ghoul, Glasslip and a couple others that I havent started due to sheer laziness and time.
    You'll see a host of older anime there too that will come later.

    @Metazoxan I wouldn't say that is all that is left, Akame ga Kill is a weird combination of things that I can't even explain. But yeah because of your explanation for why this show could be brutal is the sole reason I checked it out so I can't say I'd blame you for staying away from it.
    I still think Zankyou no Terror could have been a good choice to check out for you, at least watch the trailer for it to make sure you aren't interested even a little. As of right now the death toll of their attacks stands at
    zero, they haven't killed a single person, some have received wounds but none were said to be serious injuries
    Let us know how Aldnoah Zero turns out then, no one else seems to be really mentioning it yet, oh apart from @Keiichi-Morisato how good is this mech show not just as a mech series but as a whole?

    Kei, while I have you here, you bastard making me start an ecchi series about a trap by mentioning it was a short series. Why am I lured in to watch stuff simply because they are short, damn it. This himegoto is bad, enough said.
    I also have no idea what you mean I am safe for now about Barakamon, I talked Blazer into watching it as well as BK and my brother and tried to get Wut to watch it, but I don't remember specifically telling you to watch it. Maybe I made you curious about it after you read some of my posts.

    @Sir-Maddy not yet, my requirement is that I finish Ippo first [I'm only 12 eps away now] and Meta has to start one of the darker ones which looks to be Aldnoah Zero currently.

    Okay I'll look into terror. My schedule is rahter full at the moment though so if I did pick it up I'd have to either drop something or do it later. For now let's make Aldnoah Zero the darker series I watch in exchange for you watching Nozaki-kun.

    Sounds good Meta because I really want an honest opinion about that series that I can trust to see if I should start it, you wouldn't think it'd be too hard to get an opinion about a series form this well known person.
    Okay so I should finish Ippo by this weekend so I'll probably start Nozaki this Saturday ready to watch the newest episode on Monday if I am remembering right.
    Maddy I swear if Nozaki isn't half as great as you lead me to believe, I might have to start considering your taste shit as well after the whole akuma no riddle fiasco.

    In his defense the strength of this series is purely in it's comedy. So if you just don't find it as funny then it's your different sense of humor that is to blame rather than his taste.

    Still liking railwars, train, some guns some action. its an enjoyable show! i need to catch up on that terror in tokyo show, i think im an ep behind, That show for sure would make an awesome show

    Sailor Moon Crystal, ep 1:
    You guys should know that it's saying something that I prefer the 90s' version's visuals to this. Haha, nostalgia. Okay, the cat's is the only voice I don't dislike. I honestly didn't think the CG transformation was that bad. Preferred the first episode of the original, I remember that much. Shan't continue; as I said before, I wanna go the original before I even think about going for this.

    Tokyo ESP, ep 1:
    I like this one; it's cool. I think I'll continue it.

    Zankyou no Terror, ep 1:
    This one looks neat too. Shall continue as well.

    Barakamon, ep 1:

    It's funny though! You call me a bastard but you and BK are the same, getting me to watch all the shorts now :D
    I only seen the first two of Aldnoah thus far but from those two, I like what I saw.
    And yes, while you didnt specifically tell me about Barakamon, you glowed brightly about it so much that I had no other choice but to watch it.
    I find it funnier that Aito doesnt get women, yet draws a shoujo manga.
