It is just an alternative version of the TV series, meaning you do not have to watch the TV series to understand the plot.

@Natsu-Dragneel Hey now! I was 2nd to post and nom after u opened noms, plus u never answered my question either but I still nomed a Lupin movie. So how come it didn't make it in?

 

Well @Natsuru-san you didn't specify which movie since there's a lot of movies and also if it's not part of the storyline then I can correct my list

 

@Natsu-Dragneel I didn't specify which of the 20 or so Lupin movies/specials/OVAs (The specials/OVAs are the length of a movie though) because I haven't had time to look into which one I was going to nom, so I asked if just saying the name would suffice for now and later tell the exact one (Been so busy ever since that post, hadn't had time to check) and no, none of the countless Lupin movies/specials are part of the "story" or rather the TV series. Each one just like the TV series u can watch in any order as each story is different and not linked usually. (Typically if there is any link, it's the VERY RARE criminal that makes a return from the TV series but even then u don't have to watch the TV series in order to understand/enjoy the movies) Plus MAL lists them all as side stories.

Anyway, I guess seeing how this is the 1st Lupin "movie" the group has watched (or rather may watch) I'll nom this one

It's time for nominations, I wanted to try something different this time and here it is: nominate OVA's or ONA's, we've always watched anime or movies but we rarely watch OVA's and never watched ONA's so this time vote for ONA's and OVA's, here are the official rules:

1.-OVA's can't be sequels to an anime if the group hasn't watch the anime (i.e. Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations can't be nominated)
2.-It can't be an OVA the group already watched
3.-If the OVA is first and then an anime, we can also watch the anime (i.e. Tamayura) (optional)
4.-Ongoing OVA's can't be nominated (i.e. Kiss x Sis)
5.-You can nominate an OVA if it's a retelling of an anime (i.e. Hellsing Ultimate)

I uhh.. I WOULD nom something but, can't think of any that fit those rules..

Also, @Natsu-Dragneel just so u know, Kiss x sis OVA is mostly a sequel to the YV series which the TV series already have finished airing. See, ep 1 of OVA is a prequel to the TV, the next ep takes place sometime during TV and the 3rd ep and above takes place after the TV series. So it really couldn't be nom'd anyway as it's mostly a sequel to the TV series.
