Maintenance Forum Change Log

The forums is now running on xenForo~! With this large of a change, things are sure to be different. Below I will be outlining some of the larger changes along with what is still being worked on. The staff here asks that you all stay patient while we finalize the move.


As you may know, all users much reset their password in order to login. Please use you email for your first login. Afterward, you may use you username. Avatars and signatures also need to be re-added. Optionally, members can fill in their profile information, add other members to their follow list and rejoin Clubs.


If after trying to reset your password and you don't receive the reset email (please check you junk folder!), contact me or Sporadic to have it changed. The subject must be “DTR password reset”. In the message, please give your username. The email must be sent by the email associated with your account. If all matches, I will then assign you a temporary password via email that you can change once logged in.


Changes:


The DTAdmin account is now run by all admins. This account will only post for major site announcements, such as this one. Every DTAdmin post will end with the username of the admin that made the post.

Most animated .gif avatars should work.

Clubs are now located under the SOS Brigade section of the forum*.


Asylum post will no longer count towards a member's post count. Previous post will, thus post counts will not decrease.


Posts that were once in a review section will be moved to their respective area under Anime Chat**.


To Do list:


Award images on post.


Move existing Clubs to their new area of the forum.

*This will take time so please be patient.


Move review threads to respective area under Anime Chat.

**Again, this will take some time.

I've removed any relevant threads about DTR mostly including technical issues with the old site / forum so anyone experiencing a repeated issue doesn't seek out a help thread and find the wrong solution to their technical issue.

Other changes:

Dubtopia Anime parent section created. Anime Requests, Broken Videos and Download forums created.
Competitions renamed to Contests and Events.
Milestones merged with General Anime.
Visual Novels merged into Video games.
Anime news forums re-ordered into arts and entertainment.
Some forums were also reordered.

@Sporadic I think it would be better to have the news sections in the Anime Chat area as any discussion is technically anime chat.

 

They're news posts though, not specifically created for large discussions like the anime chat sections. And news is entertainment.

 

But it is more anime related so that seems the most logical place. I'd personally leave the Arts and Entertainment sections for things other than anime/manga series talk.

 

Yeah, I'm gonna start working on that today. It's pretty straight forward, just time consuming.

Removed DT Invite badge as it no longer serves a purpose on the site.

Boobie Award now set to the most recent asylum event winner.

Added Bronze, Silver and Gold Kunai badges awarded to uploaders for the amount of content they've uploaded to the site. 10, 50 and 100 respectively.

Added Prediction Bracket award. Will be awarded (one person at a time) to the individual who has won the last months elimination game prediction bracket.

Adjusted trophy points to more practical values. Most awards are now worth 10 points with the exception of ascending awards (20, 30 reviews made, silver and gold shirukens and kunai) and a few others.

 

It applies to anyone who has uploaded; CMs, volunteers, anyone. And its on a per series / movie basis.

 

Some of the badges were recreated and reissued. In case anyone was wondering why they were awarded the same trophy they already have.

 

Moving the review threads into the designated sections on the forum is another task we need to finish soon. I'll msg you guys (moderators) soon with some instructions.

 

Forum release notes 11/25/14

Here's a simple breakdown of the work done during the site's last maintenance.

• xenForo upgraded to version 1.4.3. Some improvements are:
  • Update Facebook video to use Facebook's new display/embed method
  • Move IEMobile detection to ensure it is always triggered when it should be
  • Fixed the smilie tabs not working correctly with multiple editors on a page
  • When creating a thread, allow the poll question/answers to be restored from a draft
  • Fix alignment of LTR names in RTL languages in Firefox
  • Fix a situations where, with small screens, the visitor tabs would be hidden unexpectedly
  • Limit the number of unused attachments deleted at a time to prevent memory issues
  • Prevented tooltip flicker in several places
• Several add-ons updated.
• Routine server maintenance and preparation for upcoming Drupal upgrade.

Created a Rules and Reports sub section under site discussion to better organize respective topics.

The site discussion section was also accumulating a large amount of stickies so there was some organizing done to remedy this.
