This is true. In the way of justice, Ace and also the strawhat pirates are the villains. If lets say Coby was the main character of One Piece about a boy who wanted to be the best marine in the world, we would have seen Akainu as a badass who killed a horrible pirate. (who happens to look awesome and be a badass).

 

No, Coby wouldn't have seen Akainu in that way. Remember that Coby saw Akainu kill another Marine for the lulz, and that Akainu tried to murder Coby when he tried to stop him later on. And don't forget that Akainu committed mass genocide against Oharan refugees earlier in the manga, something that disgusted even the major-asshole-Spandine. Was that his job too?

And also, you are ignoring the fact that Akainu would have killed Ace even if he were a civilian because he was Roger's son. That's the kind of person Akainu is. As mentioned above, he killed dozens of Oharan civilians, and you somehow think he wouldn't have done it again if Ace were a civilian? Lul.

i cant remember this scene about him killing low ranking officers but i can see it something he would do IF they disobey direct orders. he was a vice admiral for goodness sake that has an iron clad grip when giving orders. the ohara disaster was called for and it was not his direct doing. its an effin buster call. you do know what a buster call in that world would do right? remember it was the world government who ordered to nuke ohara because they are close to unlocking the void century. spandine might have not liked it or heck akainu being indifferent about the entire situation but it was not his call. it was the gorosei that made the mass genocide in ohara. if i remember correctly, he was not there. it was aokiji that was the presiding vice admiral for the buster call so he is not part of the ohara massacre. if akainu was involved, it would be a clean up of the remaining survivors of which robin is that last known survivor from that island.

now this brought a smile on my face. ace is the son of the pirate king of course he would be targeted by, you guessed it, THE EFFIN WORLD GOVERNMENT not akainu. akainu was not the fleet admiral when that happened and the world government ordered yes ordered that anyone who have helped the roger pirates with their journey are to be executed. you remember that shipwright tom from water 7, we was not a pirate but he was still captured just because ot the reason that he built roger's ship. now add that up as to why ace would be killed even if he were just a civilian. its not akainu or any fleet admiral that started that hunt. its the world government.

if i made any error in my post, ill research my mistake later as im in the office and my browsing activities is limited but i think thats just about it why akainu should not be hated just because he killed ace. if anything, you should be hating whitebeard as to why ace died. shanks bothered to go out of his way and plead/asked whitebeard to have ace back off from his hunt for black beard. did the old man listened? no he didnt. ace underestimated black beard that resulted to his capture.

 

Akainu blew up the fucking evacuation ship on Ohara, filled with innocent civilians, the very civilians that Spandine was gonna spare.

well its not like he wants to kill those civilians just for kicks. he decided to do so just to avoid the slim chance that the ship/boat boarded a historian/scholar. well i cant deny what he did was a bad thing but given the circumstance that the foundation of the organization you are working for is threatened in the brink of collapse, im sure you wont let slimist of chance to slip through.

lets have this of a scenario where you are so close to graduating your doctors degree in the field that you are passionate about. you were enrolled in this university where if you pass/graduate, you can work in any corporation/organization you want earning 6 digits of dollars monthly anywhere in the world but if you fail, youll be exiled in the most inhospitable land and you can not work in any corporation/organization and you cant make your own business anywhere in the world (basically making you a beggar). now, you are given a task of burning an old warehouse with millions of cockroaches and you have to burn them all. the twist here is that if there is a single cockroach surviving means you failed the task. this task is given to you on the spot with a time limit of an hour and the process of completely burning them all takes about 50 mins. you noticed that due to the oldness of the warehouse, birds and chickens already built their nests in this warehouse with their nests with baby birds and eggs.

pretty much the scenario above was sort of same with akainu. if he fails that mission, that would be the start of the end of the world government and would plunge the entire world into chaos. he made the choice of destroying the ship to avoid problems in the future which nico robin is already doing.

wow i typed another wall of text and its about one piece. the series really mixes up your morals and make you question them. what/who is right/wrong? which is acceptable or not? i like that this series makes you think of those.

anyway, anymore defending would be pointless now as its now gonna be decided by a number xD.

 

One last thing. Imagine a baby bird who has yet to learn to fly completely. Imagine that the people hate that baby bird because its parent liked to poop everywhere. Would it be all right to kill the baby bird even if it didn't poop at all?
