I wasn't going to participate but how is this even close? Haruhi is easily the best character on a good show that would of been great if not for the Endless Eight. Meanwhile Korra isn't even an anime character.

While that would open a whole other debate I'd say since The legend of Korra is on Just Dubs, it's counted as anime by at least some

That you for posting this, Show a nice example of Haruhi's dragging one of her members (This case Nagato) into something that only haruhi wants, She volunteered to fill in one of the band positions and had Nagato fill in the other, despite knowing Nagato's character wouldn't like that

 

One of the members who willingly agrees to do it and easily could have said "no fuck you" but didn't. This is the reason you should dislike Kyon and the others, not Haruhi. Also how did she know Nagato wouldn't like it? Nagato's an alien who hardly ever talks and judging by her guitar skill, liked it enough to be an excellent guitar player.

let me remind you what Mikuru said to Kyon at one of the time travels. she said, it may be chaotic and out of control at first but we'll fondly recall the past.
that said, without haruhi, their day to day activity would just be stale and gray.

also, if youd just watch episode 1 (the story order not the air order), remember who wished for something unusual to happen.

 

In the novels, Asahina, Nagato, and Koizumi often ask Kyon to tell Haruhi to calm the f down, because he is the only being in the universe able to influence her will.

He has no choice ti partake in her nonsense or she will kill everyone besides them both.

She was tired of relieving the same stuff, tired of having go through the time loop, tired of listening to haruhi for fear of her destorying the world should she not get her way. Hell it's WHY she stripped harhui of her powers In Disappearance!

Two counters noobs, One in disappearance their life was only gray and dull for Kyon, and he almost stayed in said world if he had not argued with himself. Two Kyon did say he wanted something unusual to happen, this is actually the ground works of the Kyon Theory, a fan theroy stating that Kyon was actually the one with the powers and the manifested in human form

 

Seriously literally nobody on the show ever wants to do anything or has any ideas whatsoever except for Haruhi. I don't know why you would even keep watching the show if you don't like her.

Kyon doesn't have to keep coming back to the club room and hanging out with Haruhi every day. He chooses to because he likes her. Despite all of Kyon's complaining he has nothing better to do. And don't the other three exist in the world just to please Haruhi? One being an alien, one being a time traveler and one being an esper or something like that? So they obviously don't mind doing what she wants either.

Which has nothing to do with playing the guitar also if Nagato exists to please Haruhi then she shouldn't even be able to tire of listening to her. Also if she has the power to remove Haruhi's powers why would she be scared of her using them? Nagato was going along with it like everyone else because she enjoyed being part of the club. Simple as that (not that Haruhi even asked Nagato to do much anyway). Even Kyon liked listening to Haruhi, either that or he was completely spineless as he never once told her no and at the end of the god awful movie he even admitted to enjoying his life with Haruhi.

 

I think you miss understand I loved the series, hell even loved haruhi because she was haruhi. But she is a crappy brat. As negi stated he can't leave or she would throw a fit destroying the world. As for the other three exist, the exist as normal people in Disappearance, they only are what they are because Haruhi/Kyon wanted there to be Aliens, Espers and Timetravlers not to please her. They only do so, so she doesn't wreck the world

Actually has everything to do with it, Haruhi dragged nagato knowing she is highly skilled (as an alien she possess vast more knowledge than humans and powers but can't use them on strict orders). Again not exist to please haruhi she exist because she wanted Aliens to exits. And lastly she got into trouble (almost taken away) with the Data Overmind for doing it and interfering, to which Kyon counters by threatening to reveal he is John Smith to Haruhi if they harm Nagato

 

in disappearance, everybody lived a dull life its not just on kyons perspective but all of the characters. mikuru will never be outgoing and will have tsuraya as a friend, nagato would be the same with ryouko around, haruhi and koizomi relationship wont last with haruhi living a distasteful attitude with the world. that world is only ideal for kyon.

kyon has to go back as he is the check and balance of the club. he is the mediator and the spokesperson of the freaks (yeah im referring to those 3). no, those 3 dont live to please her. its only koizumi. the less stress haruhi has, the less their work. nagato and asahina wants to be there as they compete on how best to defeat the other faction.

 

Tsuraya was still her happy self and being with Mikuru she would have had her fun and no forced bunny suits, Nagato actually got to live her own life, all be it shy she had her own world, hell even developed a crush on Kyon.

yes but it wont be healthy for mikuru. as i said, she will only have tsuraya. its would be great if they have same career path but what if they dont? the nagato and kyon shipping still wont work as how hostile asakura is on protecting nagato. so living in that alternative life wont do. it would be a life of kyon being alone.

 

If Haruhi is a brat whose fault is that? Haruhi or Kyon and every one else who does everything she says? If I had a group of people who would do everything I tell them to I would take advantage of that too. On the other hand I would never agree to do whatever some one tells me. I don't even listen to my parents the way Kyon listens to Haruhi. There is a scenario where I would be Haruhi, there is absolutely none where I would be a spineless whiner like Kyon. Disliking Haruhi is fine, I don't know how anyone could enjoy the series if they didn't like her, but she does have some negative qualities. Disliking Haruhi and liking Kyon is mindblowing to me. Even without taking into account his spinelessness and constant complaining, he tried to punch her because the script she wrote called for Mikuru to kiss someone other than him. He's insane, weak willed, pathetic, and miserable.

When did Nagato ever complain or ask Haruhi to stop? If they really didn't enjoy being around Haruhi and doing her bidding, how is it possible for none of 4 people to ask her to leave them alone, or to say no? One time telling Haruhi, oh I don't feel like doing that right now is going to cause the end of the world? It's not like Haruhi was asking them to do something, they said no and she threw a tantrum so they agreed to calm her down. If that was the case I would understand your position but no they just did what she said and kept their feelings about it hidden from Haruhi.

Also Haruhi doesn't actually know that Nagato is an alien. Even Kyon has to keep that a secret from Haruhi so maybe Haruhi knew Nagato could play guitar but how do you think she learned that? She probably asked if anyone could play guitar and Nagato probably raised her hand. Their the SOS Brigade, their supposed to do whatever they can to help the other clubs and whoever needs something. Asking a friend and member of the club whose good at guitar to fill in a vacancy for a couple songs isn't some horrible thing to do.

Mikuru was never forced to wear a bunny suit, she did it on her own accord.

 

i wont argue with your first paragraph because that dont fit me. i like haruhi and i like kyon. see my previous votes.

nagato wont leave because she has to gather data of haruhis unusual anomalies and its the mandate of her leaders.

mikuru wont leave because nagato is there and also its the mandate of her leaders.

koizumi is there because its hinted that she likes haruhi and also its the mandate of his leaders.

kyon wont leave because has to keep those 3 in check.

about the guitar thing. nagato was the only one availabe at that time. koizumi and asahina are occupied with their own class activities and can not be of assistance to ENOZ.

So you really believe none of them actually like Haruhi and want to be there besides Koizumi? They all seemed like friends that enjoyed being part of the club to me. Also just because its your job doesn't mean you can't say no.

 

Haruhi, as she is the one acting like the brat. And again the CAN'T say no we won't or she will get bored of this world and remake it

Actually they did that once and Koizomi showed Kyon how bad he just messed up, the others know about each other all minus haruhi knowing, they are in agreement to save their own skins until one of them finds a way to control her. Hell the Melancholy of Haruhi part six shows what happens when you slightly piss her off, she was jealous of Kyon and mikuru so she creates a second world and almost destroyed their world

It's unknown if Tsuraya is her only friend in that world, we only see her with her for that small time as kyon then goes trying to find out what happened. Asakura only attacked Kyon in that world when he had tried to go back, which required slightly harming Nagato

 

That's ridiculous. Kyon is an enabler, it would be his fault. They can't say no to putting on a bunny costume or she'll destroy the world?!? When was that established? Being jealous of Kyon and Mikuru is way more severe than slightly disappointing her by not doing a small favor for her, and the monsters Haruhi created then were destroyed pretty easily.

Also if it is their jobs to do what Haruhi wants, they either have to do it or get fired. Complaining about it amongst themselves while Haruhi doesn't have the slightest clue their unhappy doesn't make Haruhi a bad character. If anything it makes them bad characters for complaining about their job behind the person whose making them apparently unhappy's back. Also why wouldn't they just come clean to Haruhi about everything? Haruhi isn't some unreasonable character, she would change her behavior if the SOS Brigade members made her aware that they wanted her to.

 

Asahina is a member of the calligraphy club, so presumably, she's got many friends.
