Mechwarrior 5!?

I just saw this. I'm incredibly excited. If this turns out to be any good, I can die happy.

For the past several years I've just been replaying MW4 Mercenaries over and over again and MW3, when I can get the damned thing to work. I can't wait for another single player entry in the series.

 

Any mech games are welcome, it's hard to find a solid one anymore. Titan fall 2 would be cooler if it were just the mechs.

I wish there were Battletech/Mech Warrior model kits available, similar to the Gundam Gunpla kits. I'd love to have a MadCat for my desk.

 

Gundams are made to look humanized. Battletech mechs look far more practical for military use. Then again both are impractical and we'll sooner get real life automated hovertanks with rail guns then 100 ton robots.

I'm thinking this game will predate the Clan Wars so we won't get the "newer" style Clan mechs. I don't remember the lore now but that means Atlas is king once again. Also Sunder love.

I really hope the customization options are there. Also a sort of economic system needs to exist so we could buy and upgrade our equipment, the title is "Mercenaries" for a reason. Since MechWarrior Online is a thing (never bothered with it), they should focus entirely on the single player aspect of this game.

Argh...! It's been so long, my flight stick is collecting dust. (Speaking of which they better include that in the controls)

 

That was what I liked about Titanfall though, the cat and mouse feel. A mech slams to the ground and changes the tide of the battle right there, or a few guys blow away a titan.
Not sure if there is a mech only mode, though. Probably not.
I just liked using the anti-titan weapons on infantry. Like when I use the charging laser and blast someone with it at point-blank range.



I'll say, when it came to mech games, Armored Core was neat, but it lacked the feel of being able to slowly and strategically eliminating your enemy. AC3 had both mobility and ground combat, AC4 was mainly arial (some builds had indefinite flight time, which made legs useless), AC5 was mainly ground, but they all shared the feature of having to constantly dodge your enemy, else you were torn to shreds. Somehow, AI ACs were able to jump, fly fire and dodge all at once.
In a way, it felt like the CoD version of mech games.

Gundam games are usually in Japanese, with some English exports. Kinda cuts down on the library for us.

 

Haha, I can understand. I would love to get my hands on Titan fall 2. It looks like a very good game. Just a matter of getting better parts for my Pc first.

 

I actually prefer Battletech's lumbering, inefficient war machines to Gundam's/anime's sleek, overly designed, humanoid, OP "Fuck You Machines", as I believe I once put it.

I was thinking, from the trailer, that maybe the game would take place post Dark Age.

I can't remember what the name of the first mech was in that trailer. The scout was a Raven, according to MW4.
I remember the description of one mech claimed that one chassis design was used for 500 years, due to how well it was made and how simple it was to install parts, maybe that's why I feel like I know the trailer mech's name, when it was mentioned to be 500 years old.
Maybe it was Orion or Avatar.
