I started the topic who are your favorite authors. I got nice responses and great recommendations. My to read list is currently growing. Have 300 books currently in my to reads. I only don't own about 10 if them. 6 of them I am ordering once I get my gift cards from my job.

So far I have read 23 books for the year. Some of the books include manga.

Right now I am currently reading Collision Course by S.C. Stephens. I feel bad for the main character.

This thread is to share what everyone is reading. :)

Decided to finally tackle Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" and series. Always wanted to read it but I kept putting it off for other books. No more waiting, I want to see what's the big deal about it is. Still early but I like it so far.

After that I plan on reading Sanderson's "Warbreaker"

i recently finished lolita and i dont recommend that to ANYONE unless youd like to read about a guy and his pedophilic attraction to the daughter of a woman hes renting a room from.

as of right now, im reading 1q84 by haruki murakami and i really recommend it. hes a really good author and this is the second book ive read written by him, the first being norweigan wood.

Yeah, I won't read Lolita...that sounds really disturbing. I want to read 1q84. It looks really good.

Right now I am currently reading Columbine. Then next up is a book I read for school, but loved the Joy Luck Club.

I enjoyed 1Q84, well as far as I got into it. I still have about 300-400 pages to go and just can't seem to get myself to finish it. It's 3 books wrapped into one and is 1152 pages long. Which isn't really off putting in and of itself, I just don't really want to finish it. :/

As for my own personal reading, I just finished the book, Bioshock: Rapture. Which is the novelization of the creation and early years of the fictitious city named Rapture from the first two Bioshock games.

As for the next book... well I have a few/couple/some number, of books that I've started and not yet finished. 1Q84, Shinigami's book Demon Project, Dead Space: Martyr, Hollow City which is the second book of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Fallout: Equestria, Background Pony, several other Friendship is Magic fanfictions, and The Complete Works of H.P. Lovecraft. I believe that's it, ignoring several ebooks and some PDFs.

Plus I just started reading the Ranma 1/2 manga. I am a bouncy ball.

    That's good!

I finished the Joy Luck Club and then started reading Heart on a Chain! I finished that today. It took me five days. I have just been so busy lately, but I wanted to read so I finally finished a book quickly again. I will be starting Sing You Home later. I'm currently trying to edit through my short story collection. I want to finish writing Our New Life so I can start working on the next book in the Aidan trilogy,

So. I like high fantasy. I've read The Belgariad and The Farseer Trilogy quite a few times. They are pretty amazing book series.

Otherwise, I read Memoirs of the Geisha, and then from there found some other books about people from asian countries who have lead pretty interesting lives. Mao's last Dancer, was a good read as was The Private Papers of Eastern Jewel. I'm currently reading Without You There is no Us which is an interesting read on the secrecy and control North Korea has over its citizens (Mao's last dancer touched on it a bit, but not nearly as much). Any additional suggestions would be highly appreciated. Cause I totally need more books. I mean, who doesn't? :p

@Blastarolla The Mikazuki series by Pierre Kabra might interest you, it's fantasy set in the past, in japan.

The Bartimeus trilogy is a classic fantasy trilogy (set in England, I believe), I recommend it if you haven't read it.

Currently reading Boy andthe Beast. I'm totally loving it so far. I also read the manga for Wolf Children. That took me less than an hour to read.

Most of the books I read are political thrillers. I've read many, too many to list. So I'll give y'all a shorter list:

    American Assassin - Vince Flynn
The Survivor- Vince Flynn ( written by Kyle Mills )
    Memorial Day- Vince Flynn
The Last Man- Vince Flynn (Flynn's last book before his death in 2013 )
    The Last Patriot- Brad Thor
    Act Of War- Brad Thor
    Foreign Influence- Brad Thor
    Code Of Conduct Brad Thor
    Rainbow Six- Tom Clancy
Clear And Present Danger- Tom Clancy
The Sum Of All Fears- Tom Clancy

That's just the few I read recently.

Ahh I don't read political books. I'm not big on politics because of my religious view. Do you have a Goodreads account?

It's an online website similar to MyAnimeList, I mostly use it to get recommendations when I don't know what to read.

I finished No Game No Life 4 and Spice and Wolf 5 this week.

    I started Re:Zero 2 today.

Cool cool. I'm fixing book reviews and adding some right now. I will be reading after I finish writing them.
