(1 Å = 10-10 m) f = the frequency at which light waves pass by, measured in units of per seconds
But simply put, light travels 186,000 miles a second
    or
    299,792,458 meters a second.

    Fast right?

Lets put it into perspective then.

Traveling at the speed of light, you could travel around the world 7.5 times in one second.

-This seemed like the most random thread to post the most random stuff. So I post random physics.-

Anti-matter! Anyone ever wondered about Anti-matter? Well wonder no more!

First a little bit about anti-matter.

In particle physics, antimatter is a material composed of antiparticles, which have the same mass as particles of ordinary matter but opposite charges, as well as other particle properties such as lepton and baryon numbers. Collisions between particles and antiparticles lead to the annihilation of both, giving rise to variable proportions of intense photons (gamma rays), neutrinos, and less massive particle–antiparticle pairs. The total consequence of annihilation is a release of energy available for work, proportional to the total matter and antimatter mass, in accord with the mass–energy equivalence equation, E = mc2.

But that's all the boring stuff right? Well hold on to your seats folks, it's about to get interesting.

If matter–antimatter collisions resulted only in photon emission, the entire rest mass of the particles would be converted to kinetic energy. The energy per unit mass(9×1016 J/kg) is about 10 orders of magnitude greater than chemical energies, and about 3 orders of magnitude greater than the nuclear potential energy that can be liberated, today, using nuclear fission (about 200 MeV per fission reaction or 8×1013 J/kg), and about 2 orders of magnitude greater than the best possible results expected from fusion (about 6.3×1014 J/kg for the proton–proton chain). The reaction of 1 kg of antimatter with 1 kg of matter would produce 1.8×1017 J (180 petajoules) of energy (by the mass–energy equivalence formula, E = mc2), or the rough equivalent of 43 megatons of TNT – slightly less than the yield of the 27,000 kg Tsar Bomb, the largest thermonuclear weapon ever detonated!

But what does it all mean?!?!?!!!???!!!!!?!?

Basically broken down some more, a gram of antimatter would need a gram of ordinary matter to release its energy and the energy developed would be 2×10−3(3×108)2 = 1.8×1014 joules. Using the convention that 1 kiloton TNT equivalent = 4.184×1012 joules, the gram of antimatter reacting with its ordinary matter counterpart gives 43 kilotons of explosive force.

Still don't get it? I wouldn't either. Lets show some pictures instead!!!!

Got a better picture of the Nukes now right? And you remember all of that mumbo jumbo from earlier right? Eh, don't worry about it, I wouldn't either. That's why I'm gonna show you.

Since it is impossible to know what one gram of antimatter looks like, think of it like a gram of sugar, just less than a teaspoon. Now take another gram of matter that is the same element as that gram of antimatter. Antimatter of one element can only react with matter of the same element (just in case I forgot to add that). The most common type of antimatter produced is made from Hydrogen. And coincidentally occurs naturally in our universe. Just in such minute quantities that it doesn't matter. (Get it? Matter? Right... bad joke. I know.)

Now that we have our gram of antimatter and gram of matter if you put them together everything goes BOOM!

    Remember our little picture above?

This is what the Tzar Bomba looked like.

And that is equivalent to what a 1g Antimatter Bomb would look like.

-Hope you enjoyed some more of my physics ramblings.
