It is a nameless Strogg unit (not entirely sure what kind) from the Quake video game series. The Strogg are like the Borg from Star Trek, only more brutal and with different methods of efficiency (Example- Borg assimilate living victims and technology, Strogg assimilate living victims and use the dead allies and victims for recycling). They are pretty much a variant of the Borg, but since the Strogg idea lacks originality, they have not stood out too much. To make the Strogg even more obscure, the Quake series did a poor job of depicting them and the storyline, and only 2 of the 4 games actually featured the Strogg. You could find more info and storyline to the Quake games on Wikipedia than you could on the games themselves.

Simply put, the avatar is of a nameless, obscure Strogg unit from the not-so-popular Quake series.

I guess when I change it, I will just throw the picture at someone on the appropriate thread.

3874 oh dear god. the quake game. i dont stay long with that game. i get dizzy for like 5 mins watching that game.

Seems that Quake 3 was the only popular one of the group, since it was like Unreal Tournament.
That and maybe the original Quake. Probably for old time's sake. Oh well. I was able to vent my thoughts and now I am through with it.

I heard Quake 2 was the best. Granted I haven't played any of them that's just what I've heard so take that with a grain of salt.

I absolutly love the quake series that game also helped spawn the team fortress game we see today! probly my first FPS i ever played online with a 28k modem

 

3878 first fps game i played was half life. the idea that everyone is an enemy scared me. i was 7 that time.

My first was Unreal Tournament. That was when I was 5, rather violent for kids, and since that was my introduction to FPS games, that was my standard. Now, we have Call of Duty, but it just is not the same. For one thing, I like neat guns like on UT. CoD has 40+ guns, most are firing bullets. No variety there.

Unfortunately, UT is an old game play style. For a while, realistic, bullet firing game play was the main thing. Now, we are getting high mobility FPS games. I like the new change actually. Now if only we can add high mobility to a game like UT, something with neater, bigger guns.

Ah, sorry about the rant. I am done now.
