Ended JustDubs 2015 Pumpkin Carving Contest

    It's that time of year again! Time for our annual pumpkin carving contest. This year we'll be doing things a bit differently. In previous years we did anime themed pumpkin carvings only. But now we're going to allow any and all pumpkin carvings to be submitted.
    ​
    If you can not get a pumpkin for for whatever reason you may also submit carving on a craft pumpkin or another piece of vegetable or fruit.

    ~Rules~
    Take a picture of your pumpkin(s) and post your images in this thread
    Next to your pumpkin you will need to have a small piece of paper with the words "JustDubs Online" written on it
    Entries without the slip of paper will be disqualified. This prevents random Google images from being entered
    You may enter as many submissions as you like
    Submissions will need to be entered no later then Nov 1st, 11:59 PM PST
    Entries will be voted on by staff and the 1st place winner will receive a first ever JustDubs mousepad
    Winners will be announced during the first week of November
    ​
    1st place gets their choice of one of the following three mousepads.

    • This 9.25" x 7.75" rectangular mousepad is made of a durable heat-resistant polyester fabric top.
    • Backed with a neoprene rubber non-slip backing, keeps the mousepad from sliding.

    We've done this every year since 2012 and so far no repeats. Then again I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to people re-entering their work for following contests.

    @Laximus Aww cute owl.

    I can draw pictures but craving them onto a vegetable is hard work so I really respect artists that can crave pumpkins.

    Well me and Spor did one of ours tonight. This is the one I did. Tried to do one last year but trying to carve a pumpkin with kids bumping the table didn't go well so I ended up tossing my idea out. SO this year is my second attempt at it.

    In case anyone is wondering she is holding a pumpkin in one hand and a flame in the other. I wish I was a bit more experienced to get the glow I wanted for her hair and flame etc. I broke one of the knives that came in the kit doing this lol. I probably should have used a bigger pumpkin cause I had to use skewers to tilt is back a little to get the full image

    I did a carving of Shinoa Hiragi from Searph of the End, otherwise known as "The Smuglord" for being the smuggest anime girl in recent memory. It doesn't look like much, but getting all that smugness to fit on a tiny pumpkin was a nightmare. Details like the eyebrows were less than 1mm wide, so the slightest error in her face changed her expression. Coupled with the fact that all I used was an X-Acto knife, a regular watch screwdriver, a pin, a plastic pumpkin poker, a paint brush, and 50 cent acrylic paint (that required FOUR coats to not show through on her uniform), and this tiny pumpkin took 2 work days to complete.
