This sounds amazing. I'll get Crazy to hide Halloween candy all over the Halloween theme.

    The rest sounds good too.

Completely agree. And I had the same thought. But the only issue is making sure that everyone can get out and purchase the same candy and in a timely manner.

It's fairly trivial, but sometimes things can keep people from finding that particular candy in their area or they might have trouble getting to the store. Plus, we would have to determine certain candies that we would all buy, prior the the podcast. So we all know what to get.

I don't know that I'll manage that prior to the next recording.. Hmm... Maybe we'll do a special Halloween episode?

I was more or less thinking about each guest featuring a particular brand of candy or food and those who have tried it can place their opinions on it and those who haven't tried it can voice their opinion on whether it looks like it would be something they would eat or something they would pass on. This probably won't require quite as much planning, at least for the same candy for all guests and it would open it up to those internationally who may not have the same brands. Such as the case for soda/pop/soft drinks. It was easier for Funimation to share the same candy since all who are hosts on DubbleTalk live and work in Texas; JustDubs doesn't quite have that luxury with it having an audience that come from various countries, so the idea would need to be a bit more flexible to encourage users to share their favorite/least favorite Halloween-related candy.

Anything related to Halloween or horror/supernatural anime on the Podcast would be great. I wanna try and get as much stuff going as we possibly can.

Just so I remember, we'll also be doing a thread where you show off your Halloween wallpapers. And I'll be making a Halloween wallpaper pack for everyone to enjoy.

For those that cant purchase pumpkins for the pumpkin carving contest I would suggest allowing them to us another source. Also Halloween art contest, allow members to create something via paint, drawing ect halloween theme and do a contest with that

I would say have a Halloween themed skin for the forum and make it the default just for October, but I think that'll be too much work.

Another idea would be to host a Halloween themed Graphic Design signature showcase or something similar.

It wouldn't be a bad idea. They could use the theme each year and they could always tweak the theme a bit every year. Although it's already the 3rd day in October, so we wouldn't be able to enjoy it quite as long, it'd still be an investment for future Octobers (or make it an Autumn/Fall seasonal thing).

I'd say better late then never and I say it would be a lot of work because someone would have to design it and implement it. But that's the graphic designer and web programmer's jobs. Also, I agree that it will be useful for the future. Sounds like it would be more useful for the forum than I thought.

Maybe they should use that idea for whatever they want to celebrate. Like Christmas or JustDubsOnline's birthday or other celebrations that a theme can be applied to.

Not sure what xF's ACP looks like, but a lot of the other software has a simple CSS editor (and an advanced one for those who want design a more advanced looking theme) and templates shouldn't be too difficult if they share the default templates with other themes. The majority of the work would all be in CSS and digital graphics, or just CSS depending how much work goes into CSS-based designs. Since there are hardly any images for the JDO default theme, it would really be easy to just copy the theme, tweak the blue color to an orange and you'll have a Halloween/Autumn/Fall based theme that's almost finished. Change the logo and the forum icons to something more related to the theme and you're done. Probably no more than 1 hour at most, about 30 minutes of that hour making image copies and altering the copies to match the Halloween theme, if it's just one person doing it and they like to put some detail into the images it could take a little longer, again depending on how much work is put into the theme's CSS and image design.

I like to avoid using images, so I could probably come up with a theme in about 30 minutes, it just wouldn't be a xF compatible theme though, since I don't have a license of my own to play around in the ACP on my own web server. If they were using MyBB, vBulletin, or Woltlab, I could export a theme and share it with them as I have a license for vBulletin and Woltlab; MyBB is free to use, so there wouldn't be a license requirement for it. But I know it doesn't take nearly as much work as it used to, especially when you don't have to create new templates just to create a new color scheme.

Well when you put it that way it sounds like it's the easiest thing they could ever do.

@Crazy Potato made one last year that we used for the last few days of October. This year when he updates it he'll be hiding Halloween candy for members to find as sort of a JDO trick or treat scavenger hunt.
