    Gundam 00
    Suzuka
    Negima!?
    Code Geass
    Black Lagoon

All from 2005 to 2007. I don't like a whole lot that came out before then.

To me I don't really see that range as classic anime, everyone knows I've seen a lot of anime and from it I watch all manner of things. One of my favourite older anime comes from 92, Kyou Kara Ore Wa, bloody hilarious anime about delinquents but it is older than your classic range. Does that make it prehistoric?
Gintama coming from 06 sounds too new to be a classic anime, but still bloody hilarious as well.

Anyway some of my favourite older series that fit that range in no particular order:
    Great Teacher Onizuka
    Initial D
    Hajime no Ippo
    Trigun

Oh I can list several. And by several I mean dozens :D. Sadly they'll be in no particular order once so ever.
    My Walk Down Memory Lane
Dragonball (Before Z, GT, & Super took things downhill)
    Death Note
    Code Geass
    Rorouni Kenshin
Black Lagoon (So happy that Rei Hiroe the author of Black Lagoon is going 2 resume the manga)
    Witch Hunter Robin
    Kaze No Stigma
    Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files
    Grappler Baki
The Legend of Condor Hero (Felt the story & premise were good, sadly lacked quality VA's)
    The Big O
    Fate/Stay Night
Claymore (Disappointed the series was cut short, but the manga wrapped this up nicely)
.Hack//Sign (Before Log Horizon & SAO were cool)
    The Vision of Escaflowne
    Fullmetal Alchemist
    Orphen
Wolf's Rain (Got to buy that Funimation Blu-ray Remaster + the OVA's)
Hikaru no Go (Quite upsetting that they never finished the series)
    Gundam Wing
    Monster
    Trinity Blood
Zoids (Only New Century & Chaotic were watch worthy in my opinion)
    Slayers
Basilisk (I can still remember watching this on Sci-fi when it aired shortly after Street Fighter)
    Inuyasha
Baccano (If it isn't to new to fit this list)
    Tenchi Muyou!
Case Closed (AKA - Detective Conan, still airing with over 800+ episodes and over 20 films to date)
Berzerk (Quite Disappointed with the latest series)
Yu-gi-oh (I was young, and like all youngsters it was the rage. The card game is still popular after over a decade)
