    YOKOHAMA PIKACHU INVASION 2016!!!
This year, the Yokohama Pikachu Invasion, or "Pikachū Tairyō Hassei-chū," will be held August 7 to 14 in the Yokohama Minato Mirai mall area, and the theme is “This Time We'll Be Getting Wet???” This week-long Pikachu-themed festival began in 2014 and has since become an annual summer event in Yokohama. Last year's "Dancing Pikachu Invasion," or "Odoru? Pikachū Tairyō Hassei-chū!" was incredibly popular, but this year's event promises to be even more exciting, with a brand-new "Soaking Wet Splash Show." More than 1,000 Pikachu are expected to appear (Yes over 1,000!), and there will be various shows and parades.

Last year's event had a special Ditto Pikachu hiding among the others, shown below. He may reappear this year, or there may be other fun surprises.

Several promotional videos for last year's event, including a Pokémon Get☆TV television show performance by Shoto Nakagawa, are still available on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel and are shown below.

More news one the event is readily available at the Official Pokémon website & Official Pokémon YouTube channel.
