So guys as you've just read, it finally happened. I wont be an anime fan from this point onward. Its been nice knowing you but alas it can't go on forever.
Reason being: super helpful and convenient library full of anime old and new being disabled in Aus, apparently for me at least. Great news to come home to.

Of course I'm kidding but What do I do now for all of those shows? If licensed sites had ALL anime it wouldn't be an issue.

That sucks. Isn't there any other ways you can watch some stuff?

    Message me on Discord.

This is how I've bypassed it (at least torrenting-wise):

Oh there are plenty of ways, but seeing the list of stuff that is gone was surprising. A few sites I use to use in the early days were on it too.

Not all but a couple of them yes. Plus new ones will always be mad so theres that. Our streaming site is okay if I ever want to watch a dubbed show again, for now at least. Apparently this ban wave was targeting subtitled piracy sites. But said it was a win for Hollywood so I fail to see the connection between hollywood crap and subtitled content. It may be surprising but Australians don't speak another language, America.

Not sure if that is something that should be admitted but, yes. Came across that later. I don't know what it exactly does, but it works.

When I read your post I got worried. I thought "now who's going to give me awesome recommendations?"

I'm glad to see you got a fix. You're one of the reasons why I'm still part of this community after all these years.

I was never going to go anywhere but some thoughts did cross my mind. I could have become a normal civilian that enjoyed regular hobbies and going places. Glad to see that door slam tightly and locked again.
Also yay, I'm still needed around here. You guys as well, without you I'm sure I'd have grown bored by now.

It basically tells your computer to use a different DNS ("Internet Address Book") instead of your internet service provider's (ISP) DNS. Your ISP is typically the first line that starts blacklisting sites when compelled by government (at least, so far it's only compulsion by government). When this happens, you can usually just use someone else's DNS to bypass your ISP's blacklist.

Somebody gets me, I have to keep my reputation up. I'd hate to slip into being a vague memory.

That actually made some sense to this completely computer illiterate idiot. I knew you'd be able to provide some info. Thanks Vash

So I actually forgot this was a thing. Ran into a guy I went to school with, he asked "where do you watch your anime now?". To which I responded with my answer.
He then replies "that still works?". An oh yeah moment hit me....

7 months later an my list is still growing. Watching all the trashy shows I can. I've got plenty of bad recommendations up my sleeve now.

This is something I plan on doing. But it is so hard to bring myself to watch some actually bad shows that I know I don't like already. So I'll probably begin with FMA when I start that.

There are actually 1 or 2 people that were on our forum at one stage or another with more time spent watching anime than myself. I've got them beat in number seen but not time spent. I need to quit my job to focus on that goal. Its worth it right?
Is it bad that I don't actually remember too much about the anime I've seen?

Oh thats a difficult one if you've cluttered it, but at least it isn't a PTW. Those things get out of hand. Mine is almost entirely movies that I'd forget existed if not for that list.

it is difficult even with MAL. not all streaming sites host the ONA/OVA/specials for some anime which is a bummer for a completionist like myself.

While I'm not a completionist I do agree. Licensing being a problem means that with strictly legal services you'd never be able to watch OVAs of some shows. And forget about disc specials, you'd be lucky if the physical copy you buy include them. Another is a show with an OVA, that didn't even come with my DVD collection.
Got to love specials and shorts.
