Spoiler: Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho

In an alternate timeline, Japan was divided after losing World War II: Hokkaido was annexed by "Union" while Honshu and other southern islands were under US sovereignty. A gigantic yet mysterious tower was constructed at Hokkaido and could be seen clearly from Aomori (the northernmost prefecture of Honshu) across Tsugaru Strait. In the summer of 1996, three 9th-graders had made a promise that one day they'll build an aircraft and unravel the tower's mystery, but their project was abandoned after the girl, Sayuri Sawatari, began experiencing sleeping sickness and transferred to Tokyo for better treatment. Three years later, Hiroki Fujisawa accidentally found out that Sayuri had been in a coma since then, and he asked Takuya Shirakawa to help him finding a way to revive her. What they don't know yet is that Sayuri's unconsciousness is somehow linked with secrets of the tower and the world.

With the old-boy old guard unable to thwart this deadly menace, humanity turns its desperate eyes to an aerial attack force with much nicer legs. Meet the girls of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, better known as the Strike Witches. These darlings of the great blue yonder may not have standard issue uniforms, but they do have all the right stuff. Where the average flyboy falters, these dolls blast aliens to bits in the bat of an eyelash. With a little magic and a whole lot of leg, the girls of the 501st are winning the war on pants, and aliens!

Spoiler: The Familiar of Zero

Louise is a magician at the Tristein Academy, dubbed with the nickname "Zero Louise" due to her inability to effectively use her magic properly, resulting in zero successes. An upcoming test at her academy requires her to summon a familiar, a servant and partner to support her as a magician. Despite desiring a familiar that would be superior to her constantly mocking classmates, Louise ends up summoning Hiraga Saito, your average Japanese boy. Even with Louise and Saito both unwilling to accept each other, they have no choice. Louise cannot attempt another summoning and Saito cannot return to Japan, and so their life together begins. Based on the novel by Noboru Yamaguchi.

Spoiler: Girls und Panzer

You may have heard of kung fu, but the girls at Oarai High School practice gun-fu—really, really BIG 75mm gun-fu, in fact. It's called Sensha-do, and it's the martial art of operating armored tanks! They take it seriously too, and since winning the national Sensha-do championship is such a huge deal at Oarai, they sometimes go to extreme ends in order to get the best students from Panzer class to sign up. Which is how Miho Nishizumi, who HATES operating tanks, gets drafted to join doomsday-driven driver Mako, even-triggered gunner Hana, highly receptive radio operator Saori and combustible tank-fangirl and loader Yukari as the incomparable Anko Team. They may not be on the half-track to fame and fortune, and maybe a few of them would rather shop for tank tops than become tops in tanks, but once their focus is locked and loaded, they're absolutely driven.

Spoiler: Full Metal Panic!

Sousuke Sagara, a seventeen-year-old military specialist working for the secret organization MITHRIL, has been assigned to protect the latest "Whispered" candidate Kaname Chidori. To complete this task Sousuke will have to deal with enemies from his past as well as the occasional panty thief. Unfortunately for Sousuke, the toughest part of his mission isn't only protecting Miss Chidori but also getting used to living an average high school student's life, which is no easy task for someone raised on the battlefield.

I was the 1st to vote and also noticed the tag didn't work. (I was browsing here when I saw the new thread lol) @Natsu from what Kiri said incase u didn't see it, the way the system works is when copy/pasting tags it won't always work. She explained why in the glitch/bug thread and even gave a tip for making sure it works but it's a tedious work around but at least it'll work.

@Natsu I've already seen both seasons of SW however, I am waiting for the movie and the ovas to get a dub... so yea, I'll prolly have to skip the discussion this time due to not having seen the movie and ovas yet in order to avoid spoilers however, I can assure everyone, this anime gets way better after ep 3 and onward. This is a great anime to have for a club activity.

@Sir-Maddy Perhaps ya could help answer Ophelia's question? I'd be able too, if not for the fact I'm waiting for the dub for the ovas and movie so I can't say with 100% certainty.

@Supernatural-Knight shit taste? Have u even seen this series? Lemme guess, u hate the look of the girls cus it makes them look moe and also like the genre u hate which is, cute girls doing cute things, am I right? I assure u, this ain't no cute girls doing cute things anime and one should never judge anyone/anything based on their appearance.

 

No, I'm guessing it's because there's one genre that he doesn't prefer: Ecchi

 

I'm right there along with him on that one. I'll give it a shot, but I don't much care for ecchi either.
