Touhou Project Tower Defense Game Gensokyō Defenders Heads to PS4

Mediascape's "Play, Doujin!" project announced on Tuesday that it will release developer Neeptia's Touhou Project game Gensokyō Defenders for PlayStation 4 in Japan. The game will be available digitally, though no release date has been announced.

Neeptia began streaming a new promotional video on Tuesday.

The tower defense game features nearly 20 playable characters who must use spell cards and traps (why does this sound like Yu-gi-oh) to protect Gensokyō from invading fairies. The player characters can also attack the enemy directly. The story and stages are fully voiced. The game supports online co-op play so you can play with strangers or your friends.

Neeptia also plans to release the game on Windows PC. The PC edition, unlike the PlayStation 4 version, will have a "2D Version" with 2D graphics instead of 3D graphics.​
