Anime studio Emon began streaming a promotional video on Thursday for its The Silver Guardian (Gin no Guardian) anime series. The video reveals and previews Rin Akatsuki's opening theme song "Mamori Tsunagu." Akatsuki previously performed theme songs for Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga and the second season of The File of Young Kindaichi Returns.

The video also reveals that Ami Koshimizu, Nozomi Nishida, and Nana Mizuki are joining the show's cast.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX1 on April 1 at 9:00 p.m. Each episode will be 15 minutes long.

    The anime stars:

Yuka Saitou as Riku Lei (right)

Emon describes the story of the original Chinese web comic:
Sui Gin may be poor, but he is one of the best online video game players. This identity however, is unknown to all except for RikuLei, Sui Gin's classmate. She delivers a mysterious mobile device to Sui Gin but before being able to explain herself, RikuLei is kidnapped and Sui Gin unwittingly finds himself wrapped up in series of problematic circumstances. Searching for a way to save her, he accidentally activates the device allowing him to dive into a new Virtual game-world.

The anime now has a different staff than the staff that was announced last March. Masahiko Ohkura (Yukikaze, Blue Drop) is directing the anime at Haoliners Emon, and is also handling the series composition alongside Hidefumi Kimura (Uta∽Kata, Kiddy Grade). Yoshiaki Tsubata (Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Minako Seki (both seasons of Kingdom) is composing the music.

    Other staff members include:
    Color Key: Kunio Tsujita
Art Director: Shigemi Ikeda, Yukiko Maruyama
    Art Setting: Seiji Nishimoto
    Director of Photography: Tatsuo Noguchi
    2D Works: Miyuki Kojima
    Editing: Aya Hida
    Line Producer: Aki Takahashi
    Production Desk: Yūki Fukumoto
    Setting Production: Ichiko Arai
    3D Producer: Masaru Yokohagi
    3D Director: Kenichi Higaki

Ken Ando, Yuuji Hosono, and Yuichi Tanaka, who were previously listed as director, series scriptwriter, and character designer, respectively, are no longer involved in the project. Gonzo studio founder Shouji Murahama was also previously listed as producing the anime, but is no longer listed on the staff.

The original web comic has more than 418 million views since March 2016. The anime project was first revealed in December 2015 as Emon Animation Company's first anime project.
