    Devil Survivor 2

Mysterious invaders called the Septentriones arrive in Japan and begin attacking the country on a Sunday. To fight back, the heroes in Devil Survivor 2 signed a pact with the devil to become the Thirteen Devil Messengers. The Septentriones show up at least once a day and you have a time limit of seven days to defeat them.

So to start of this thread I first want to ask is anyone still enjoying it?

Honestly I am, it was what I wanted and sure some events may seem out of place or weird but that is just how this type of genre goes. Not everything is explained straight away. If playing the games would of made this make more sense it doesn't matter to me because sometimes a bit of senseless action is needed.

Now about the actual series, I like the overall concept and while it could be pulled off better, it isn't too bad. I didn't think they'd end up killing that silver haired kid so quickly, I mean I always thought he'd die due to his arrogance but I didn't expect it to happen the next ep after his introduction.

But now hibiki has 2 of the 4 classic Japanese protection deities while Nitta has an overpowered goddess herself. I'm hoping that Daichi gets something stronger too but I do still like his poltergeist since it seems like he has attitude.

Haters gonna hate? But seriously. You might want to consider making the clubs discussion threads on the public forum. People already made threads for both our activities and they're getting more activity than they are in the club.

Yeah I saw that there are other threads in the action section but they aren't getting more or rather valid activity. They seem like it because of the announcements of the pointlessness in them but currently neither are too active. This is one of 2 official activities so they should be done in the club I thought to continue from how it use to be.
If this however continues to keep being the pattern [might give it the rest of the season as a trial] then I may just do that for next seasons activities. Although for those of us that know these are here it is easier to see an update to these threads.

Now about Devil survivor, it isn't that bad guys so I don't know why there are so many unsatisfied watchers of this. It is a supernatural shounen based off of a game so while it would make more sense having played the games it is still an interesting watch.
Cell phones summoning demons, is a pretty new anime concept idea to me [even if summoning monsters has been done to death], and the properties of them are quite cool too.
Sure how Hibiki and Nitta summoned other strong monsters while Daichi can't catch a break is unexplained but it at least is interesting.

I'm kind of curious how this show is going to end now, they don't seem to care if they kill a character so is there a chance that at least one of the three will die?

I knew Date A Live was a lot more worth to become our 2nd activity...

I am with Noobs on this one.

Yeah because making someone fall in love with you to kiss them and seal some spirit's power is soooo much more interesting lol.

Depends on the taste. But DAT receives more attention and discussion than DS2 on every forum. Even the attention DS2 receives is usually negative... even the people who played the game are saying they are disappointed.

For me I like Date a Live because although it is mostly a standard harem it does these small things that make it stand out. Like a hot spring episode with them only reaching the hot spring during the last 5 minutes and even then you barely get any fan service. Meanwhile DS2 is your standard video game adaptation with nothing new to offer. Just a cheap adaptation of the source material with minimal effort to adapt it properly to the new medium and no effort to introduce people unfamiliar to the games with the series. I'm not saying Date A Live is perfect while DS2 has noting good about it but DS2 is a major disappointment that didn't live up to what it could have been while DAL has actually surpassed expectations even if only a little.

But enough of comparing two unrelated series what do you all think about the guy who says the commander is the real bad guy?

Another hot springs episode but without a lot of fan service? That sounds very... exciting?

Yes I would agree @Keiichi-morisato, this show is getting very interesting. I knew I was going to like it and frankly I didn't care what anyone else thought of this show but it is good that someone else is at least enjoying it.

Those giant spheres that need to be defeated in unison were kind of weird, but that JP's head is overpowered to the max. But now the world is being erased so that sounds like a boring end, and speaking of boring endings the end theme animation is going to be quite empty if they keep killing off characters since they are removed. Too bad everyone that they killed were interesting to me, I wish they would of killed off those cat summoners instead.

Can't believe that some characters had to die in the latest episode, though it was quite shocking for me, I'm getting excited

So it appears that this show still isn't getting very much attention, although it is quite interesting.

I got to say I have mixed feelings about this ep, it was sort of a good and bad scenario in my opinion. Sacrificing Nitta was to save the others and had some decent emotion portrayals but they had to go and stuff it up by allowing him to reclaim her soul from the demonic possession which had already destroyed her brain. Yeah sorry but I think she really should of died, nothing else really was meant to be able to happen and miracles are well just that. Since the only other to survive being in severe danger was the chick with the scarf but now we have 2 people that have survived by a miracle so yeah.

Also Since Hibiki now has 3 of the 4 Japanese guardian deities is it safe to assume that  he will end up summoning the turtle as well? I think he will, it just seems to look like it is heading in that direction.

Wow... somebody actually enjoys this... it's BAD like TERRIBAD I mean TERRIBLE. Decided on sacrificing (I'm finally excited), everything works out (I get hopes it will become good since it would lead to some emotional break, which leads to some finally better char and story development). However, a miracle happens and Nitta is saved. BULLSHIT. At least make it realistic... well try to use some common sense... Now another typicala nime "I'll shout her name or my tears will drop on her/his body and that person is revived" - great plot...

    Even Twilight was more interesting.

Yeah I'm still enjoying it, it is the kind of show that isn't bad to watch once weekly but not as a whole once the entire thing has aired I think @ovyda. I would say that Natsu and Keiichi is enjoying it too since they were the only others I've seen positive posts about from it.

Although I agree with your points of how it could have went, but that miracle did ruin the rest of the episode. I was thinking that on the off chance perhaps something like Simon from Gurren Lagann but obviously not as well done in 3 eps. But no they ruined it by saving her with the calling name cliche, much like you Ovyda this annoyed me, but not to the point where I rate it 4/10. If it doesn't descend any lower I'll give it a 6-7 depending on how they leave it, but yeah it isn't that great of an anime adaptation. The only tears I liked seing revived someone was in Pokemon otherwise it shouldn't be used.
However twilight is pushing it, there is no way in hell that horribly slow romance with sparkly vampires would be better than a bad anime adaptation of a game with minimal romantic elements.

That's how bad DS2 is when even shitty movie Twilight looks superior to DS2. It might be average show for a person who likes nonsense or who played the game. Maybe even as weekly it's not that bad, but I watched 5 eps in one day and it was LOL because it was so BAD. I can't even bother saying what was awfully bad, because mainly everything is going badly... there's totally no development... the information we get is not efficient enough to make it any good. Just look how fast all the events go... it's totally like a game - cleared 1 lvl, ok now lets go to the next lvl instead of trying to make a proper story.

Seriously I even enjoy Photokano a lot more which is quite bullshit too.

@keiichi-morisato, I am still liking it but I can see why Ovyda isn't. While I am enjoying it it isn't living up to what I wanted it to be but even still it is a 7 currently to me.

Now about the newest ep, so don't read anymore keiichi unless you've seen it

What a lovely bonding moment they have with the formal introductions and exchanging of emails, too bad they all receive each others dead face clips.
I can't believe that they killed off 3 more of those characters that use the Niceae system like that, especially the chick with the one eye. Damn they seemed like they could make it through the septentrion threat. Then they went and killed Fumi and she even accepted her death and watched the attack get closer, damn that was kind of a cool moment from the emotionless character. But I think Daichi being dependable in the right situation was a good scene, I have to say for the flashback I was envious of the bond they had showing them sort of grow up. But but he finally summoned something and it is even stronger than Yamato's demons, and now Alcor is once again sticking up for Hibiki. I think this episode recovered some of what I thought it had lost.

But now the awesome end theme is a bit plane since they have lost most of the characters in it.
