The Midnight Channel After Dark is a programming block on The Midnight Channel which features anime with specifically adult content, themes and situations generally depicting excessive violence or nudity. We feature our content every Saturday night at 9:00PM PST (-8:00 GMT).


Here's how it works.

Over the course of a day or two we will nominate 5 series, movies, OVA or specials.
Once we have our 5 nominations we will vote on which one to watch.
The winner will be shown every Saturday night, 4 episodes at a time.
When the activity starts we’ll make a discussion thread on the forum.





1. You are free to show up at any point before or during the showing. For preparation purposes if it is your first time I suggest showing up an hour early to become acclimated with everything. We also play Persona 4 music in the channel before the movie starts, gives everyone a chance to gather and get situated in the channel. The movie will start at exactly the time posted. We will not be waiting on anyone and we will not postpone the time if you are late.

2. We will not pause the showing at any point while it is playing unless there is a technical difficulty. Make sure you go to the bathroom, eat and have have a drink ready before we begin.

3. The Skype conversation will be strictly text only. Please do your best to stay on topic while discussing. The Skype chat is only for discussing the activity while it is playing or anything relevant towards the group itself.

4. Do not nominate something that has already been watched.

5. You may nominate anything centered around adult content; ecchi, nudity, graphic violence, suggestive themes.

We'll discuss later in detail what we'll watch. I might be acceptable with a compromise. I'll probably open up nominations for this so we can do it next week.

 

How many nominations can we get? I'll allow either ecchi or mild hentai, nothing too over bearing. We'll stop at 5 nominations and then I'll make a voting thread. You are allowed to nominate a series under 13 episodes, a special / OVA or a movie. If a series ends up being the winner we'll watch say 4 episodes a week.

I'm also curious what people think about the segment name. Karma suggested using 'Dark Hour' from Persona 3 as the name. And someone else suggested using 'Zero Hour'. Or we could even copy old Toonami and use The Midnight Run. I'm undecided.

Toonami didn’t air hentai . But I’d suggest seperating it from Midnight channel so those not interested in hentai/ecchi don’t get confused. The Twilight Channel sounds kind of cool. oh and I nominate Daiakuji. I’ve heard people say its like hentai DBZ

The Midnight Channel is the name of the station (livestream) the segment for anime on Saturday's is just called Anime Saturday's. I'll make sure everyone is clear in the difference between the two segments. But considering the time that this will be airing people shouldn't be getting confused on what it is we're watching.
