Kadokawa revealed more information on Friday about the "Steins;Gate World Line 2017-2018 Project" that it revealed at Anime Expo earlier this month. (July 28, 2017 is a date crucial to the story of the franchise). The company revealed that one part of the project will be the anime adaptation of Steins;Gate 0 that is now in production. Kadokawa also streamed a promotional video for the anime and the overall project on Friday.

Kadokawa also revealed a key visual for the project.

The company also revealed that the original Steins;Gate anime will get a rebroadcast on Japanese television starting in October. In addition, the September issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine will launch a manga adaptation of Steins;Gate 0 (pictured below) by Taka Himeno on August 4. A novel adaptation will also launch under Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko imprint.

Kadokawa had said at Anime Expo that the project would launch in the "2018-2019" timeframe.

Steins;Gate 0, a follow-up game to the original Steins;Gate game, was initially announced in March 2015 with an anime adaptation in the works, but no details on the anime had been announced since. A previous rebroadcast of the original Steins;Gate anime took an alternate route toward the Steins;Gate 0 story in December 2015, the same month the game debuted in Japan.

PQube released the Steins;Gate 0 game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Europe and North America last November.

Production company Mages. announced the upcoming game Steins;Gate Elite, a major update of the original Steins;Gate game with new elements, in May. Mages. has not yet announced the new version's release date and platform (or platforms).

Set in Tokyo's Akihabara district, the original game followed Rintarō Okabe as he changes fate by travelling between different world lines. The game inspired a 2011 television anime as well as the Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu sequel, and the Steins;Gate 0 game. The game franchise boasts over 1 million copies.
