Sony announced on the U.S. PlayStation Blog on Friday that it will host its E3 Showcase on June 11 at 6:00 p.m. PDT (9:00 p.m. EDT).

Sony, in what it called "a rare break from tradition," shared some information about what the Showcase will include. The event will present an exclusive look at four titles: Kojima Productions' Death Stranding, Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima, Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man, and Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II. The event will also have announcements from indie and third-party developers.

Shawn Layden, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios, statedon the PlayStation Blogcast on Friday, "we continue to try to refresh and remake and reignite what we do at what used to be called the press conference at E3." He added that Sony is "taking kind of a different angle" on how it presents the Showcase this year. Layden confirmed Sony isn't planning any new hardware announcements at E3 this year.

E3 will be held from June 12-14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Nintendo will host a video presentation on June 12 at 9:00 a.m. PDT (12:00 p.m. EDT). The presentation will preview Nintendo Switch games in 2018, including the Super Smash Bros. game.
