The cover of this year's November issue of Shueisha's Comics News magazine has confirmed that Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's comedy manga Shokugeki no Sōma (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma) will get a television anime adaptation in 2015.

Saeki and Tsukuda launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2012, and Shueisha will publish the 10th compiled volume on November 4. Yuki Mirosaki, a cosplay chef and model, also contributes to the manga, and each volume of the manga features recipes.

North American publisher Viz Media announced plans to release the manga in November 2013, and published the second compiled manga volume in North America on October 7. The company initially decided not to add the manga to its digital Weekly Shonen Jump anthology because the series is "a little racy," but then announced on Monday that the manga will join the anthology's lineup next week.

The manga centers on Sōma, who works with his dad at his family's restaurant. His dad is a culinary master, and he often hosts cooking battles with his father. His father then enrolls him in an elite culinary school that is very difficult to enter, and the graduation rate is only about 10 percent.

The main Gofuku branch of the Yajimaya bookstore chain briefly reported on Twitter on Tuesday that a television anime adaptation had been green-lit for next year. The post has since been removed.

French publisher TONKAM mentioned an "amine" of Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma manga in June, but later notified ANN that no anime was planned and changed its post.

A VOMIC was released last year and starred Yuuki Ono as as Sōma Yukihira and Mai Nakahara as Erina Nakiri.
