The official website for the anime of Fumiaki Maruto's Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata light novel series began streaming a new promotional video on Thursday for Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata♭ (Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata Flat), the anime's second season.

The anime will premiere on Fuji-TV's Noitamina programming block in April.

The video reveals the anime's returning cast:
Saori Ōnishi as Eriri Spencer Sawamura
    Ai Kayano as Utaha Kasumigaoka
    Kiyono Yasuno as Megumi Katō
    Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tomoya Aki

The video also revealed the show's returning staff:
    Director: Kanta Kamei
    Series Composition, Scripts: Fumiaki Maruto
    Character Design: Tomoaki Takase
    Music: Hajime Hyakkoku (F.M.F)
    Animation: A-1 Pictures

The official website also revealed a key visual.

The original light novels with illustrations by Kurehito Misaki and the anime revolve around Tomoya Aki, an otaku who is working part-time to earn enough money to buy anime on Blu-ray Disc, who meets a beautiful girl on his way home during spring vacation. He eventually models the heroine of his own dōjin game after her. However, he finds out a month later that the girl is in fact his classmate, and he doesn't know her name. He learns that the girl — named Megumi — actually is hardly noticed by others. Tomoya also has no artistic ability or writing skills, so he asks ace of the art club Eriri Spencer Sawamura to provide the art, as well as the honor student Utaha Kasumigaoka to write the scenario. Can they produce a decent game for Comic Market?

The first season of the anime premiered in January 2015 in Japan on Fuji-TV's Noitamina programming block. Aniplex of America licensed the series under the title Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, and streamed it on Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, and Hulu as it aired. A PS Vita game based off of the anime shipped in Japan last April.

I disliked the first season of this show, cliche characters in another boring harem. I did like the fact that they themselves were aware of this and made other references, but that was all wasted and I found the show bad. So why is it that I want to watch the 2nd season of this? For better of worse I've said that I will watch everything that is noitaminA and so I must. I am fully prepared to hate myself and these characters for another cour and quite possibly rate it even lower than the first season.
Heroine was the worst, the characters new it themselves but god so boring. There is no best girl for this show, unless I want to give it to background character or someone like that.

Who liked this show? I want someone to be able to give this news thread a positive atmosphere after me. @Nimander you liked this didn't you?

This show was incredible in my opinion. The girls felt fresh, if still a bit cliched. The artstyle was fucking gorgeous(which is the main reason i picked it up). The OVA episode 0 contained all the goofy/sexy fanservice which allowed the rest of the show to focus more on the characters. There still was a bunch of fanservice of course, but that's typically a thing with harems. Also.... That gurren lagann song cover was a great way to end the show. I was literally crying in shock from the nostalgia.

The only downside to this show is that the MC's end choice is so obvious. Harems work best with a lack of a distinct 'best girl' until the final epsiodes.

My only hope with this Season is that they keep the status quo for the first half. This sequel is right up there with a Nisekoi S3 hype-wise.
