A live-action drama and film adaptation of Alfred Yamamoto's Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shōmei Shite Mita (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It) romantic comedy manga has been green-lit. The live-action television drama will premiere in 2018, followed by the film in 2019.

The staff of the adaptation will hold auditions through the Showroom video streaming service to fill two roles, and Yamamoto will participate as judge. The auditions are seeking women aged 18 to 29 years. The selected candidates will fill the roles of a college classmate of the main characters and a graduate student affiliated with a science lab. The final judging will be held in Tokyo on March 20.

The manga centers on Ayame Himuro and Shinya Yukimura, two scientists who are in love with each other. They want to prove that their love can be scientifically proven, quantified, and expressed factually.

The manga launched on G-mode's Comic Meteor website in 2016, and Holp Shuppan published the manga's third compiled book volume last November. The manga has more than 400,000 copies in print.
