This year's July issue of Kadokawa's Comic Beam magazine revealed on Monday that Reiko the Zombie Shop manga creator Rei Mikamoto is launching the Iron Ghost no Shōjo (Iron Ghost Girl) manga in the next issue, which ships on July 12. The July issue described the series as a "spiritual battle action" manga.

While the July issue of Comic Beam had listed the manga title temporarily as Iron Ghost, Mikamoto posted a preview image from the magazine on Twitter and listed the title as Iron Ghost no Shōjo.

The August issue of Comic Beam will feature the manga on the cover, and the first chapter will have an opening color page.

Mikamoto published the 11-volume Reiko the Zombie Shop manga in Bunkasha's Horror M magazine from 1998-2004. Dark Horse Comics published the first six volumes of the manga in North America. Reiko the Zombie Shop was adapted into a three-part live-action video series in 2004. Mikamoto's Kyonyū Dragon manga was also adaptated into a live-action movie in 2010. Funimation released the film in North America in 2011.

Mikamoto launched the Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw manga in Comic Beam in 2009, and ended the manga in this year's April issue. Kadokawa published the manga's 13th and final volume on March 25. A live-action film adaptation premiered at the Mitaiken Zone no Eiga-tachi 2015 film festival in February 2016 before opening nationwide in Japan in March 2016.
