The fifth compiled volume of the Psycho-Pass prequel manga Psycho-Pass: Inspector Shinya Kōgami revealed on Monday that the manga will end with the sixth volume, which will ship on December 9.

The manga launched in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade magazine in June 2014. Midori Gotou writes the manga, Natsuo Sai provides the art, and Psycho-Pass writer Gen Urobuchi is credited with the original story.

The prequel is set during the time when Kogami was still an Inspector. He commands a team of Enforcers, hunting down latent criminals before they can commit crimes in a near-future society where people's propensity for crime can be measured in a number called a "crime coefficient" or "psycho-pass."

Dark Horse Comics has licensed the manga, and published the second volume in North America on June 6.

The Psycho-Pass anime has also inspired the Kanshikan Tsunemori Akane and Psycho-Pass 2 manga, as well as the gag manga Gakuen Psycho-Pass.

The first Psycho-Pass television anime series premiered in 2012. Funimation licensed the series for release in North America. A second season debuted in 2014, and Funimation similarly licensed and streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A film opened in Japan in January 2015, and Funimation opened the film in the United States and Canada in March 2016, and released the film on home video later that year.
