Pokémon Hoenn Game Remakes Announced for November Worldwide Release

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced on Wednesday that it will release Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire worldwide this November for Nintendo 3DS. The new titles will reimagine the 2003 Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, and "take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world."

Ruby and Sapphire were the third generation of Pokémon games, and took place in the world of Hoenn.

The new games will be largely in 2D, but some areas will be playable in 3D.

People were staring at me because I was fan-boying about this earlier during school. I'm anxiously awaiting the start of pre-ordering!

 

This is needed. i am curious to see if they add anything to the games. The trailers says something about exploring a new world so idk if they just mean hoenn in 3d or actual new places. either way pretty pumped for this

Until X&Y I hadn't played any Pokemon games since 2nd gen. Loved X&Y. I've never played Ruby or Sapphire but will probably be picking up the re-makes. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with them. :3

That's a good place to be as I found 3rd and 4th gen to be my least favorites. The remakes basically utilize what they've learned over time to change the original product. That can be good or bad based on the gen and this gen was great. So I'm somewhat excited, but not because of my original experience. You have no such preconceptions to hold you back.

 

I saw this on my FB news feed. It looks pretty awesome!! I loved Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire!! I especially enjoyed having your own secret base and being able to visit and battle your friends in their base.

 

I don't know about you guys, but I have my copy of Omega Ruby on pre-order now.
Also I never had a secret base, I hated Secret Power.

Honestly, I forgot that this was happening.. but now I'm excited and can't wait for the release, again.

 

First trailer streamed at E3:

The trailer confirms that the games are slated for release on Nintendo 3DS on November 21.

There is also speculation that Pokemon Emerald will get a remake after Nintendo filed a trademark for Pokemon Delta Emerald.
