Oh... oh, Japan... We need to talk about your obsession with school girls.

Gacha machines are the Japanese equivalent of those prize machines that you see at grocery stores, arcades, and cheap restaurants that are filled with slap bracelets and temporary tattoos. Except, in Japan, they're filled with.. well.. just about anything and everything that can reasonably fit inside a small, plastic egg. And a new gacha hitting the streets of Japan is filled with letters... from school girls. Well.. school girl (singular), named Kiki (I guess her delivery service didn't pan out).

For 200 Yen ($1.77 USD), you can receive a "letter from Kiki" to do with as you will. The letters are, mostly, what you might imagine - loving, doting notes from an imaginary girlfriend (or boyfriend, depending on what you imagine Kiki's gender to be). But, Kiki can have a sadistic side, as a note on the machine encourages buyers to "put the note in [their] friend's shoe cubby/locker."

The messages, however, only get weirder from there. Some even get downright yandere-tastic.

Still, it might just be worth 200 Yen to witness your friend/co-worker finding this in their locker.

    How I love Japan.
Not receiving enough attention from the opposite sex? Don't want to waste time writing up your own letters to prank your friends? Boy have we got a solution for you.

If it exists, surely it must be in Japan. Love letters from a machine for $2, not sure if we are exactly meant to say "money well spent" here... but why not? If you can get panties and porn from vending machines why can't there be gotcha machines with love letters?

I... I kind of want one.... Although I won't be able to read it.

What are you going to do with it? I mean, I guess, if nothing else, it would be a unique souvenir.

I'm now imagining the satisfaction I would get by putting this into someone's personal belongings.
Then I remember, I'm in the US, and a majority of the population doesn't know Japanese.

You know, I have no idea. I just got the sudden urge that I wanted to get one after reading your article. An interesting souvenir from an overly enthusiastic almost yandere girl that is lovey dovey.
But I'd only want it if it were hand written, if it was printed then it isn't personal in anyway and I wouldn't care. Even if I can't understand it.

What am I doing with my life?
