New Mutants, X-Men: Dark Phoenix And More Shuffle Release Dates Again



If you thought that the merry-go-round that is the release date schedule for Fox's latest mutant movies had finally come to rest, think again! Films such as The New Mutants and Dark Phoenix are on the move once more.

Those awaiting the next main X-Men release, Dark Phoenix, will have to be patient again, as the studio has shifted it from a planned November release this year to 14 February 2019. This is Fox likely trying to take advantage of a release month that has started to reap rewards for bigger titles, as demonstrated by Deadpool a couple of years ago and Black Panther more recently. The November slot is not going begging, though, as Bohemian Rhapsody, complete with replacement director Dexter Fletcher, has moved up from December to take it.

The New Mutants, meanwhile is on the move yet again. With recent word of additional filming to add a character and other material, the young mutants spin-off starring Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy won't arrive in February next year, but instead has been shuffled to August 2019.
