The Japanese entertainment news website Natalie reported on Friday that Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia manga franchise (including the manga, novels, spinoffs) has 13 million copies in print.

Shueisha published the 17th compiled volume of the manga on Friday, and also published the third volume of Anri Takashi's Boku no Hero Academia UA Hakusho novel series, as well as the third volume of Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court's My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spinoff manga.

The Twitter account for the franchise had revealed in March 2017 that the manga franchise has 10 million copies in print.

The manga has inspired two television anime series. The anime's first 13-episode season premiered in April 2016, and the second 25-episode series premiered in April 2017. The third season will premiere on April 7. A separate anime film with an original story will open this summer. The manga has also inspired several video games.

Horikoshi launched the superhero manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014. The manga's 13th and 14th compiled book volumes both bundled an original anime. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and in print.
