We had another tie this week, but I suppose that's to be expected. We always have some good competition among us, but of course I have to break those ties. Unfortunately for Vlad, I had to give it to Core again this week:

Both were good and impactful videos, with some good music, but with different views on war. But it came down to the strength of the video, and as much as I'd hate to give favoritism to an animated video, it did show off a lot of creativity. On the other hand, Vlad's "The Lion and the Jester" had some really good, real footage of war and victims. I also liked the chess game for impact, the quotes and the text to give it meaning were also important. But as a video, it did get a little stale and boring after a while since the clips they showed didn't have too much consistency with each other, and they did re-use a lot of clips over and over.

And for me personally, as a voter in this, I do dislike songs that have empty instrumentals. I mean a guitar or drum solo is fine (the part with the violin was actually really cool), but those long spaces in the beginning and throughout the video, I felt like they needed more impact from the video, which they didn't really receive. I'm sorry Vlad, though Core's video was extremely simplistic, it was a clear winner in this case.

But enough of that, we mustn't lament on the videos that don't quite make it through, let's just keep getting bigger and better for the future. So let's see some more of your best, and let's keep the momentum going.

    1. Only one nomination per member, but they can be replaced at will as long as it is done before Friday (I will be lenient within reason on the time, but know that I go by EST and other stand-ins may vary greatly).
    2. However nominations can be cast all the way up Saturday, when the poll is made up.
    3. The number of nominations, I want to keep at a manageable size, but still leave room for many nominations. So it may vary (and I'll let you know if and when I decide to change it), but the "standard" I will keep at 8.
    4. Since there will be more room for more nominations, we can keep the discussions more in the polls rather than here. I want people to feel a little more relaxed that their nominations wont slip through the cracks as quickly.
    5. Given the time-frame of each nomination, ones exceeding the limit of 8 will simply carry over to the next round (provided the club member decides they want to re-enter it).
    6. If I am absent for any reason, I will allow anyone to continue the thread progression (in usual fashion) provided it is at least a full day late.

    None.

I like Nightwish, but the women get so used in this band. And honestly, they are the ones that caught my attention in the first place with their voices.

Congratulations @Core, & @Roy-Blue I've no hard feelings in how you came to your decision on breaking the tie. I'm primarily here in this club to see new bands or artist I've never heard of as well as listening to classics or mainstream hits.

Now to follow suit with Core because I'm just that kind of guy here is my video.
Personally one of my favorite songs from this particular band as it features Klaus Meine the lead vocalist to the band Scorpions.
