Where: Skype, of course.
When: 3PM PST - ???
Ask @Laximus for an invite to the chatroom.
aren't you still in our skype chat from new years?
Ah, gotcha -- assumed we'd be making a new group.
As is tradition, hi @Noobs !
I had the 25th off but thought the get together was going to be on the 28th for some reason. lol
Guess it was best I didn't though, used up most of the data allowance so I have to conserve the remaining 1% for the rest of the night and I don't know how much Skype uses for voice chat. I hate the fact that most of the US internet providers decided to put data allowances on home internet services. Back in 2006, it used to be unlimited data and only limited by the speed you chose to sign up for. It's making internet access extremely expensive and the companies still do absolutely nothing to keep the lines maintained, just like slum lords and renting out property without maintaining them.
that was fun. the timing of me joining was great as i joined when you guys decided to play a game. thanks for the last minute reminder @Negi-Springfield. i hope next time we can have people from the east also. i am inviting @Supernatural-Knight, @Mafiacow, and @kaylentine or straight asians that we know like @Samet Chan or @Ryder.
Glad you could make it!
Why aren't you counting me as asian?
IS IT BECAUSE I'M WHITE!?
Spoiler: Me Right now
I.....I thought you were on my side?? **cries**
anywhoo, cant wait for the next call. Glad everyone who could made it, especially noobs who we dedicated the chat to saying "hi noobs" every so often lol. @Vashnik i think with call it shouldn't use up much data, but if its a video chat, or screen share it'll eat up the data.
Hopefully this info will help with that
The table below provides the minimum download and upload speeds required, as well as the recommended speeds for best performance.
Call type Minimum download
/ upload speed Recommended download
/ upload speed
Calling 30kbps / 30kbps 100kbps / 100kbps
Video calling /
Screen sharing 128kbps / 128kbps 300kbps / 300kbps
(high-quality) 400kbps / 400kbps 500kbps / 500kbps
(HD) 1.2Mbps / 1.2Mbps 1.5Mbps / 1.5Mbps

(5 people) 2Mbps / 128kbps 4Mbps / 512kbps
(7+ people) 4Mbps / 128kbps 8Mbps / 512kbps
If you are signed in to Skype but not making any calls, Skype will use on average 0-4kbps. When you make a call, Skype will use on average between 24-128kbps.
i was counting by geo-continent.
