Does anyone else hate this ridiculous phrase?

There is no such thing as misinformation, there is only information.

It seems like the phrase was only created so companies like Youtube could place the word "misinformation" under videos they disagree with and then act like are being impartial. Real impartiality would not place labels on things at all. The misinformation label discourages free thinking, since anyone accused of misinformation is considered no longer credible. It's censorship, either say what those in power want you to say, or say nothing, or be de-platformed.

If something isn't true you can just say "that isn't true" and move on. The misinformation label shuts down any room for discussion and is something I would expect from a dictatorship.

Sadly people tend to intertwine misinformation and disinformation together. Yes they are similar but not the same. The truth of the matter is you are subject to believe what you want to. However false info can case a lot of harm...

For example if I said this is wild parsley and safe to eat It is not safe for it is hemlock. even tho i think this example falls under disinfo vs misinfo

We already have a perfectly good phrase for that. That's just called lying. "Misinformation" is just an excuse to censor people.

A lie can never be true. You may believe it to be true, but that doesn't make it so. Facts cannot be changed, so you cannot change the truth.
