LionsGate issued a statement to ANN earlier this month regarding a disc replacement program for Anchor Bay's U.S. release of the Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions anime film. ANN confirmed the release featured both Japanese and English audio, but the only subtitle track matched the localized English dub, not the Japanese script.

    LionsGate's statement is as follows:
The “dubtitle” issue was addressed immediately after being brought to our attention. We worked with the licensor to confirm everything was accurate with the Japanese subtitles prior to manufacturing new discs. Replacement discs should be available to ship in 1-3 weeks to the core fans who reach out to this customer service email. [[email protected]]

Some customers who have contacted LionsGate reported that the disc replacement offer is only available within the United States, and not in territories where the film has been imported. ANN reached out to LionsGate regarding this claim, but the company didn't respond by press time.

Anchor Bay released the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in the United States on June 27.

LionsGate has also not commented on its February Blu-ray Disc release of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, which some customers reported also had "dubtitles," among other audio issues, such as the audio switching languages.

A customer service representative told ANN in February that LionsGate was taking and passing along comments regarding any issues with the release. ANN also reached out to other staff members at LionsGate and its Starz subsidiary in February, but didn't receive a response.
