Halloween is, by-in-large, a western holiday. One that most of us are all too familiar with. My favorite, in fact. But, our favorite candy-hoarding, costume-wearing holiday has made its way to Japan, in recent years.

This year, in particular, Halloween as seen a major boom in Japan, with retailers preparing for Halloween months in advance and Pepsi Japan even releasing a "Pepsi Ghost" flavor in honor of this most frightful of nights.

Twitter user @syu_tsugai spotted one particular retail display featuring Dragon Ball Z characters Frieza and Piccolo in a rather amusing display of Halloween spirit (which some hardcore fans were none too happy about). And, with the growing interest, even the yakuza have been known to get involved.

Even so, trick-or-treating from house to house is still fairly uncommon. But I, for one, hope that Halloween only continues to grow overseas, until we all call off from work the following Monday due to devouring inordinate amounts of candy.

    Happy Halloween, Japan and JustDubs!
