[IMG]The official website of the Japanese cinema chain Aeon Cinema briefly listed 4DX showings for the Girls und Panzer anime film, starting on February 20 in the Minato Mirai theater in Yokohama, and the Shijonawate theater in Osaka. The listing has since been removed.

The official Twitter account commented after receiving inquiries that it is in the process of modifying the theater list, and asked fans to wait a little while for a conclusive answer.

With the 4DX systems, certain theaters have motion seats that move in sync with certain action sequences onscreen. Similarly, effects such as scents and wind will operate in accordance with the action onscreen. The Attack on Titan compilation films and the live-action Attack on Titan films had 4DX screenings. TheShin Gekijō-ban Initial D Legend 3 -Mugen- will also be shownin 4DX in selected theaters on February 6.

The Girls und Panzer anime film opened in Japan last November, ranking #2 at the Japanese box office and selling 84,752 tickets for 128,438,980 yen (about US$1.05 million) on its opening weekend. The film has sold 548,583 tickets for over 800 million yen (about US$7 million) as of January 6.

The film expanded to more theaters last Saturday, and will eventually play in 47 prefectures.

The anime franchise began with a television series that premiered in 2012. The story centers around high school girls who drive tanks that exist in real life, as they compete in teams.Crunchyroll and Anime Network both streamed the anime outside Japan. An all-new original video anime (OVA) titled "Kore ga Hontō no Anzio-sen Desu!" (This is the Real Anzio Battle!) premieredin Japanese theaters in July 2014, and the anime shipped on DVD and Blu-ray later that month.
